***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

@chocodog Have you unblocked pop-ups? Once you click the award letter, on the top right of your screen you should see a button that ask you to do it.

I was rejected and I’m black so don’t think being urm automatically gives you anything I have 32 act 2160 sat, but my essays were average(5-7) I’m ready for you ivy day

@tamales I started sobbing in target and it was so awkward
@Planner oh yeah I guess it is like 9 there…I’m EST so I always forget!

@Planner Do you know what’s going on if I don’t even have the Student tab yet? All mine has right now on Axess is a Stars tab.

First chance to post… Son got in!!! I was at work, phone rang, saw his number and just KNEW. I have never heard such joy from him! He drove to my work just to show me the portal. I really thought I might pass out from the shock.

Waitlisted…darn holistic admissions!

Huge congrats to all you superstars who got accepted though lol

@banana777 Sorry, I don’t. Maybe it’s a different screen than what current students have. Hopefully IT will be able to straighten it out.

In all honesty, does anyone think it’ll be possible to get off the waitlist this year? Or am I being way too idealistic? ahah.

@Alamom same here, I was @ work seeing patients when D texted me , and up to now, I keep having her refresh her portal to make sure they didnt make a mistake. Stanford is really holistic , as D is asian, we are high income, didnt even have subject tests, only two APs passed, ( 2 failed) , no sports, just very generic local awards, no fancy summer programs, but worked damn hard on those essays . Didnt even get any regents @ the UCs ( except for UCR) but got into all of them.

@lordofthedance1 that did the trick. thank you!

rejected

Has anyone been able to join the Facebook group?

@jetynz nope!

Accepted. Still in shock 8 hours later.

@rabblerowser I feel exactly the same. Refreshed several times.

Today was not a good day :frowning: Rejected from Stanford and received my notification of my third and fourth waitlists. Trying to keep upbeat and not be ungrateful since I have a full ride waiting for me at USC. Congrats to all those who got in!

I got waitlisted (second time this week…) and I’m not really sure if I want to take the spot. I absolutely love Stanford, but I feel like I’m gonna get my hopes up and then when I don’t get in I’m not going to feel as amazing about the school I paid the deposit to as I should. Congrats to all who got in though! And to everyone else who got waitlisted/rejected: remember that a stupid college rejection doesn’t define you in any way. Stanford gets way to many qualified applicants for the number of spots available and I remember being told by an AO that they could fill the incoming class 3-4 times with all different (and all qualified) students - and so in the end, it’s often a matter of pure luck…

@tamales what were you stats? Congrats!

I hope graduate admissions are not as crazy…

@ZBlue17 I’ll go now to make a post in the results page but the gist of it is 2310 SAT, 35 ACT, 2 800 SAT IIs and 1 780 SAT II, 4.8 W GPA, 4.0 UW GPA. Thank you so much!

@mountaingoats It’s such a surreal and overwhelming experience, I totally understand! Are you going to admit weekend?
