@tacimaci No problem at all! Best of luck to you!
Hi all,
To put it simply, Iām freaking out. This morning, I decided to conduct a semi-regular sweep of my personal e-mail account, searching the name of each college I applied to in order to see if any news has arrived. While searching, I discovered that seven weeks ago, I received a message from a Stanford alumna who was seeking to set up an interview. This e-mail had gone straight to my junk folder when it was sent, and, as a result, I had never seen it. What should I do? Is it too late, at this point, to attempt to reach out to her in order to schedule and interview? Would it make sense to reach out at all, or should I carry on as though I never noticed said e-mail?
@TheCrimsonBulldog Itās almost definitely too late, decisions go out March 31. I would reach out, say the email went to your junk folder and apologize, just as courtesy to the alumna.
Iām an interviewer (for an Ivy, not Stanford). If an applicant did not respond to my initial email, I would simply assume s/he didnāt receive it for whatever reason and I would attempt to recontact after a few days. This alum didnāt do that, but I wouldnāt sweat it. She just marked your interview form āunable to reach.ā It wonāt hurt you since interviews are not required for Stanford. It would be a nice touch to contact her now and explain what happened, but it is too late to affect your decision.
@TheCrimsonBulldog As a Stanford interviewer, I can confirm that the above posterās advice and insight is accurate.
Would it be appropriate to send an application update for my trimester two grades and updated rank (4.0 UW from trimester 2)? I also have a few minor sport distinctions that I could mention.
My GPA moved up 0.05 or so, and my class rank increased by about 3 spots. Since my school goes on a trimester system, I already uploaded my midyear report with my first trimester grades.
If you think that I should send in an update, how should I go about doing it? Through Stanfordās portal? through an email (to regional admissions?) ? my counselor?
Thanks!!!
@89october That would not warrant an application update and could be seen as annoying. Decisions have all been made already, unless you won Intel or some international/national award, there is no need to send this information.
havenāt posted here, but im also an rd applicant to stanford 2021!! as of right now, im planning to major in mathematics, but im looking at other disciplines as well. canāt wait for the decisions!!
When are decisions coming out? April 1?
@kabobgirl They are released 3pm PST on March 31.
@kabobgirl march 31, 3pm pst
@yonceonhismouth @yuvanni Thank you! I canāt wait.
Does Stanford send acceptance and rejection letters or are all decisions made through the online portal?
All decisions through online portal, but if youāre accepted, they send letters and stuff (I thiiiiiink)
Yes they send you an acceptance folder with a nice Stanford car sticker
Is it official that decisions are going to be on 31st March? Cause last year decisions were released on like 25th March.
Yes, itās official. Check the admissions twitter page. Comes out at 3 pm
