do you guys know if Stanford will give out travel grants for admit weekend?
the only thing we can do now is have faith and pray…
In Stanford’s case, I know alumni and current students and I love their personalities and thought processes. The intellectual vitality essay is no joke, everyone I know is insightful, energetic, passionate, and fun-loving, but also compassionate and humble (even if some of them don’t demonstrate it all the time.) Also, I am passionate about Visual Art and Artificial Intelligence, and the thought of walking past Rodin statues to the A.I. Lab founded by the great John McCarthy is enthralling (sorry for nerding out.)
And, no matter what happens, keep in mind that you will have unique opportunities wherever you go, and you should focus on seizing them.
to whatifbus
so did they send out emails about our ids? or were the only people who received them people who called stanford? and how will we be able to access them when they come out
@lokai1 They asked. Also, your University ID will come on your acceptance letter and you use this ID to create your SUNetID.
their interdisciplinary majors are the bomb and they’re good at everything and California.
whispers modern languages minor
So for the people who called and didn’t get one they are rejected? That does not make me want to call lol
@nillupa we’re not sure. people are speculating a ton but nothing will be sure until decisions are actually released.
either way i wouldn’t call.
Everybody just relax. Stanford is not going to “slip up” and prematurely give hints as to who is in and who isn’t. My son got his SUNet ID number when he got accepted and you will get yours too when you are accepted. You’re not going to get it early. Stanford will give it to you when you are ready to have it. Relax it will be over soon
I’m just very VERY curious to see if the whole SUNet ID thing actually ends up being true…
I know two who got one so far early, including myself, an SUID that is, and I was offered the possibility of making an SUnet account. And apparently, there were 2 who called and were NOT given an ID when they called IT. Someone should really just call to see if they’re not given one to confirm/ disprove the theory. Someone calling and not getting an ID might prove the theory
@sweatearl is correct. Everyone will have a SUID, but not everyone will be in the IT system.
what do you even say to the IT people? do you just straight up ask if you have an SUID on file? just wondering haha
@alexa2143 You just say you are curious to know if you have a SUID on file. They will ask for your first and last name. If you are on file, they will give you your SUID number. Keep in mind that you will have an ID regardless of whether you are in the system.
@KG5APR ahh that makes sense, thanks!
fam. can we really not all just wait a couple more days.
@ambiguousperson every extra day is a day in pain.
@ribs123 I’m pretty sure they’ll give out travel grants for Admit Weekend (assuming you applied for financial aid and have demonstrated need). They gave me one last year
