@collegekid171, probably out of school loans are your best bet?
@swimmergal @kalons I cry EVERY night.
Hi guys, I’m a sophomore rn who will be in your position soon enough. I just wanted to wish you people good luck, and assure you all that you’ll do good wherever you matriculate.
Also, if you want to kill time, you could check out www.stanfordrejects.com. Its kinda funny and works with quite a few big-name universities.
@cconfusedd LOOOOL. I laughed so hard. Thank you
@cconfusedd I think my neighbours heard me laughing!!! Too funny! Thanks for sharing :))
And another one=> columbiarejects.com
Guys I felt so sick all night and couldn’t sleep. Ivy day is upon us!
@jkfs123 I’m actually from Princeton so I can honestly tell you that you will absolutely love it here. The town is great, the people in the town are awesome, and it’s just a fantastic place to live. It’s a bit too cold for me, but if you’re up for the snow and gray winters, the rest will be amazing. Congrats on PU!!!
@kalons Thank you so much! I am so excited!!!
For a second I thought I was looking at a Princeton CC thread
Good luck to you all who are hearing back today from the Ivies!
@Princetonian1013 Glad to see another person who loves Arts go to Stanford. My kid’s favorite class in high school was Arts History, and we did our official visit to Stanford, we toured Cantor museum which we enjoyed, but the other more modern museum was too beyond my artistic comprehension for me to appreciate.
@Princetonian1013 I just watched your reaction video, and you’re SO cute! OMG Congratulations!
@websensation We humanists are definitely a rare bunch at Stanford but I think that’s one of the things that makes the college so appealing for non-CS/engineering/STEM majors– the humanities classes are super tiny and the plethora of resources are only distributed amongst a select group of students. There’s something to be said for going to a college where your major isn’t the most popular (understatement)…
Now granted, some students say that the “fuzzies” vs. “techies” culture is hostile towards non-quantitative subjects, but I’m nonetheless super excited to be going to a school that takes so much pride in its humanities– be that English, Art History, the Arts, or otherwise. When Stanford sets its mind at being good at something, they tend to succeed (and then some), and in the past few years, they have shifted their primarily Silicon Valley-esque focus to the visual and performing arts– I’m just super grateful to be entering the University at a time when that dedication to excellence is so strong in my fields of interest.
Anyway, long story short, I agree with you– the Cantor and the Anderson Collection are fantastic, if not a but too top notch for me to comprehend at my present stage in Art Historical studies.
@writernwriters Thank you!!!
@Princetonian1013
I have heard of the divide between the fuzzies and techies at Stanford (s/o Cath in College LOL), and honestly I don’t think the techies realize how complex and demanding the humanities can be. The beautiful thing about Stanford, though, is that its environment seems to foster endless intersections. For example, there’s the art contest put on by the neuroscience institute, which I think is absolutely amazing, among many other things, of course.
I’m so glad to hear that you got in! I remember watching your video on the Tube way back in December when I was freaking out about what was going to happen with my decision. All confidence that I had this whole year has abandoned me now, but with at least an inkling of faith, I must say that I hope to meet you in Palo Alto some day soon! If not, then best of wishes to you and your class. Art is awesome. It’s gonna be great.
P.S. Did you apply with the Arts Portfolio??
@Princetonian1013 OMG, Shana! Hi, congrats on your acceptance:) Even though I will be rejected, I was happy to see you happy)
Feels like I’ve just me a celebrity
U guys know when does Stanford come out?
@Princetonian1013 @tonjanaenae I must say that as someone who considers themselves a half-fuzzy half-techie, the interdisciplinary nature of Stanford is what really draws me in. Hopefully I’ll end up there (2022 applicant)…
well just got rejected by all the ivies so
I also just got rejected by all the ivies, but I got Georgetown. I love Georgetown, D.C., and the city is where it all happens, but I could see myself on a california beach too.lol! Here’s hopin’! Good luck to every one of you awesome people. We are qualified for all these schools, even the ones we didn’t get in. That’s pretty cool.
