I though the credentials@stanford was only for letters of rec and supplemental materials.
@LoveTheBard I sent all my scores in SAT R, I, Ii and ACT, but I know people who didn’t send their ACT only their SAT because they thought it was too low. I never saw it as being a big thing and don’t see how it would become an issue, but I understand that Stanford might see it as such if they ever found out. Though I again don’t see how exactly that would happen.
@demonman24 When I was having issues with the ACT scores being send I used credentials@stanford by the directions of the admissions staff.
Has anyone sent an updates email to Stanford? I recently became a National Merit Scholarship and also have some other significant life updates. Should I contact them about this, or will my email not even be read? Thanks!
OK, thanks @LindsayHarvard
@LindsayHarvard - It’s only a big thing insofar as they ask to see all of the standardized testing and your friends intentionally withheld information. It’s a form of cheating. If Stanford were ever to find out (it wouldn’t be difficult for them to do so), they could rescind their offer – or worse.
They should follow the rules - everybody else does.
@demonman24 and @penguin17, I’m not sure how your school transcripts work, but for my school, the transcript has the details of every SAT and ACT I’ve taken. So technically, Stanford will be able to see the number of attempts and scores of each attempt.
@demonman24 I would go ahead and contact the office to get their guidance.
It is my understanding that Stanford is one school that requires all test scores to be sent from the testing agency and will not accept them if they are on the transcript.
@IcySpirits I’m not saying it’s ok to withhold test scores, but I just want to point out that none of the schools in my district include test scores on transcripts. I wouldn’t assume that his/her test scores on his/her transcripts
@HSCounselor2, you are right, Stanford definitely requires the official test scores to be sent. I was just answering a question about “how would Stanford know how many times a student has taken the test”. In my case, they would know through my transcript.
@DryMango, I didn’t think you were saying it’s ok to withhold the test scores. I was attempting to answer one question :).
Sorry, I haven’t posted much here before, so maybe I should learn to be more clear next time
@LoveTheBard my goal was not to play “loose and fast with the rules,” I just didn’t figure out until yesterday that they require all of your test scores. You guys are right, and I will send them an email with the missing score. It shouldn’t affect me either way (I sent in a 35 and a 33 and the one I didn’t send in was a 33).
I understand @IcySpirits that is a good point. At our school, it is an option to put them on the transcript.
Is Stanford opting out of likely letters this year? Or is it just that no one on CC has received one? Could it be that they’re taking especially long this year to make admissions decisions? I’M NERVOUS
@writernwriters I wouldn’t expect a likely letter because many have said before they’re extremely rare and like fairy dust. That being said, I’m also very nervous haha. There’s a good chance that the people that got one didn’t post on CC or don’t use CC.
@writernwriters I think I saw someone post on another thread that their daughter got a likely letter from Stanford. I must have been like a week ago.
I got my early admission (likely) today!! (still crying lol!!)
Congratulations, @lamestprincess. Did you get notice in the US Mail or email? What state do you live in?
I received it in the mail (it was originally sent the 17th) and I live in Montana.
@lamestprincess Can you see it in the portal?
Just got a likely letter!
@Wowzersmeowzers and anyone else who got a letter, can you please let us know a) how you received it and b) what state you live in?
