Stanford Class of 2023 Discussion

@factoryboylol, ok, now we’re getting way out there, lol. I personally find it near impossible to believe you can just call the admissions office and ask an abstract question like that about a date change for SAT scores on the portal, and they’re just going to boom, drop any answer on you, let alone an accurate one, just because you asked.

I 100% agree with you. The user probably had a change in date and wanted himself to believe in that. But whether it is true or not, telling people “you got rejected if there is no date change” is just plain stupid.

The speculations about “I heard…” “someone told me…” etc brings to mind a quote from SpongeBob, “Why, once I met this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy’s cousin…”

Or, from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off;: “My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLWGDxGh2G4

Or, from REO Speedwagon’s “Take It On The Run:” “Heard it from a friend who / Heard it from a friend who / Heard it from another you been messin’ around”

Just because you heard something (or saw it on Reddit) does not make it true. And no AO would ever reveal information in an anonymous phone call.

@factoryboylol , agreed, not to mention just plain ol’ mean. When a topic is as hot as this one has been over the past week, there’s going to be that one special person who takes the opportunity to play mind games.

@skieurope, I’m literally cracking up over your post, love it! We all needed to hear that, thank you!

@factoryboylol Just check ou the user’s reddit history. Once he said he had no change, then he said he had one. He said in many posts that his changed to march, yet also said “I told them mine changed (it actually did not so RIP)”.
Also, a few minutes before he posted, he had been begging others to call Stanford because he could not do so. Not really trustworthy.

There are a couple reasons why I think the idea of the date change being correlated with decisions is well-founded. Firstly, those with a date change has already reached a decisions (LL and etc), some IVY leagues remove their checklists specifically for this reason that the date might imply a decision (cornell & brown), the majority of applicants have seen a date change, and so far, only “top” students have seen no date change (as in amazing over-all applicant). If this theory was true, everything would make sense. But then again, we’ll see…

Stop the madness!

@TheBeyonder I agree wholeheartedly as a no change applicant

I predict that the later (March 17 is the earliest I have seen that isn’t 2/28 or 3/5) and no change are indicative of 2nd committee. From here I think it is by region. The only other person I have seen in the midwest outside of the larger groups had a change on the 17th as well. Can anyone midwest (minus maybe Chicago) confirm a change?

@waterisnotwet no change in Florida

I was looking through Reddit and one person who had received a likely letter said he didn’t have a date change while another likely letter person said his date changed. I’m even more confused now; why do you guys suppose that is?

Ive had no change and I’m from Ohio

No change and I’m in Michigan

No change and cali

No change in Cali

People will believe what they want to believe about these decisions even though there is no real evidence for either side. If it makes people feel better, then fine, but can we stop talking about it now? No matter what you believe, it’s getting tiring and is spamming this thread with irrelevant “information”. This should be a thread discussing actual admissions, not a forum for us to make unsubstantiated theories and speculate “what if”. The ONLY way to know whether you got accepted or not is to either get a LL or wait until decision day. End of story.

Cali date changed 3/08

No change in NC

wait omg, mine says it received 3/3/19
