@typiCAmom Thanks! She had gotten into 6 UCs excluding riverside Merced and Santa Cruz, USC with NMF half tuition, waitlisted at MIT, cal tech and U Chicago and finally admitted into Stanford. She had to decide between Stanford and Berkeley and considering the opportunities and major explorations at Stanford, she decided to go there. As of now she is planning to major in Physics.

Waitlisted! Totally expecting rejection…maybe coronavirus is working in our favor?

Hi! Can anyone let me know how the waitlist letter looks like this year? It would be much appreciated and congrats on your hard work!

I am writing to let you know your application has been reviewed, and we are inviting you to accept a place
on our waitlist. We were inspired by the determination, hard work, and care you invest in everything you
do, and we hope to give your application further consideration.
To accept your place on Stanford’s waitlist, please fill out the Stanford Waitlist Response Form on or before
May 1, 2020. If you join our waitlist, you will be provided with a final admission decision by July 1. We
understand you must respond to offers of admission by May 1, and you should secure a place in the
freshman class at one of those colleges by that deadline.
If you choose not to join Stanford’s waitlist, use the same form to let us know you are declining our
waitlist offer.
Please know the strong potential in your application was evident, and the only additional information we
need is the Waitlist Response form. Because we are not able to meet with you individually, we encourage
you to visit our page of frequently asked questions.
Stanford invites only a small percentage of students to join the waitlist, and you are part of this exceptional
group. We acknowledge your strong interest in Stanford, and we appreciate the thoughtfulness of your
application.

Thank you so much!
