Agreed. My daughter goes to MIT and my son was rejected by MIT (no sibling legacy), though my son is admitted to Stanford, Princeton, Caltech, Yale, UPenn, Columbia, Duke among others.

Absolutely no legacy at MIT.

S24 was also waitlisted. It seems like number of waitlisted students admitted varies greatly.
