Don’t you have UCLA AND Berkeley???

DUDE, please get a grip! I know so many people rejected/waitlisted to Cal/UCLA with better than perfect stats and incredible ECs. Cal seemed to be particularly brutal this year. I just can’t stand to see you this down on yourself. I have a DD24 at Cal & absolutely loves it. She got rejected from all of her top choices last year & had her share of tears, but is super happy at Cal. The quality of profs is crazy there with the 2nd most nobels & patents. Plus it’s super cheap for in-state!! Try to cry it out & regroup.

Kiddo accepted, engineering. Signed up for optional interview but was not offered one, so we were very surprised. It’s going to be a hard decision.

My daughter got in! She went 0-5 with the Ivies yesterday and had given up hope. She had this and Michigan to open and decided to open Stanford first to get the rejection out of the way before the waitlist. Instead, she got confetti! This is truly shocking and unexpected. She had a 4-hour interview in mid February.

DD was denied. She had a great interview in January. But not upset. She has other great options. Good luck all.

Seems like number of waitlisted applicants could be a record low this year because of the almost radio silence about waitlist decisions and flood of rejections

My daughter was waitlisted!

My daughter was not given an interview either so I thought she had no chance but she was waitlisted. Others at her school got interviews and were rejected. So who knows!

Brutal results for me. Rejected almost everywhere. Luckily bagged UC Davis (in state). Stanford lotto shot so don’t feel any way about it. Maybe my sister (grade 6) will get a better university. My family had no idea about the process.

same here, an intl. student rejected almost everywhere in the US except 3 safeties acceptance and one waitlist from UPenn. I am just glad with the good results in other countries, but seriously it was too hard being a first gen. intl. trying to seek admissions into top colleges while asking for financial aid (also the country is quite literally included in the orange list issued recently :sob: ). When you realise you were competing against kids with equal stats of yours but with years of guidance from their family / counsellor ever since they started high school or even before that, it’s kinda sad but also at the same time, I believe we should be proud of ourselves to have the courage of exploring all these on our own. And yeah I do agree maybe our younger siblings will get into a better university cuz now they have someone like us to guide them. All the best and congrats on UC Davis, it’s amazing!

My DD got accepted! DD only applied to four private schools—Stanford, Harvard, Yale, and Princeton—and was accepted to all of them. We never imagined such incredible results, and we’re simply filled with gratitude. We’ll quickly begin declining offers, and I hope this opens spots for students on the waitlists. Wishing everyone on the waitlists the best of luck!
