1550 SAT; 5.4/4 GPA; 17 APs (11 completed) - all 4/5’s; National Merit Semi-finalists; goes to a top 5 public school; lots of E/C spanning community service, sports, student government and local school council.

Having a sister at the same school couldn’t have hurt.

Daughter is deferred! We’re are very grateful but not quite sure what does it really mean for us.

I got deferred as well! I think Stanford historically defers very few people, so if you get deferred, it means you’re definitely still being considered.

Son was denied, really thought he had a shot but Stanford is Stanford. Congrats to those who were accepted!

Hi, the students deferred by Stanford, traditionally, are very qualified and really have a shot to be admitted during RD. I know some students who got in that way (and did very well in their subsequent studies at Stanford). It is possible, but don’t put all your eggs in one basket! It is an achievement.
