There have been 45 goals scored in 4 games in the Pens/Flyers series.

Are they using cardboard cutouts for goalies or something?

pretty impressive the Penguin player said he jumped into the other player b/c he didn’t see him and was suddenly startled, so he only got 1 game…

I mean, there is just nothing you can say in response to that.

^ Male cow manure?

These suspensions. I just don’t get them.

There’s got to be ten guys sitting in the stands who could play goal better than the Terrible Goaltenders in Pennsylvania. Seriously, Fleury is just bad.

Fleury and Bryzgalov both earn over $5million/season. The number of goals in the first four games of the series has set an NHL record. Both of them should be returning their paychecks!

[Joel Quenneville fined $10K for ripping refs after Raffi Torres hit - NHL - Sporting News](http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2012-04-19/raffi-torres-marian-hossa-joel-quenneville-fine-chicago-blackhawks-coyotes)

Are you kidding me? He spoke the truth and he gets a $10k.

Weber pounds Z’s head into the glass and gets a $2.5k fine.

This is beyond atrocious. And I like Shanahan. I have a huge poster of him of in my childhood bedroom. But c’mon!

I think Fleury is worth every dollar of his paycheck. Without him, the Pens wouldn’t have won many of the games that got them to the playoffs. However. . ., he seems to get stage fright when the playoffs roll around. I don’t understand why professional athletes who have basically been playing the sport their whole lives can get so out of their own game by a change in momentum. He was fine until he gave up that goal in the first game that was clearly offsides. After that, he seemed to forget everything that he had done for his team to earn 108 points in the regular season. Hopefully, last night’s game will change the momentum back to the Penguins but if not, at least they didn’t get swept.

romani - I agree they are ridiculous. However, $2500 is the maximum fine the NHL is allowed to give a player under the collective bargaining agreement, so that is the reason for the fine values for the players. Now, how people making $600K minimum and most making over $1 million were able to negotiate a max fine of $2500, I have no idea.

good game for the caps tonight.

Sorry, soccer. I know that’s the max. However, they can hand out suspensions. I’m really p***ed that he got off without a suspension.

GRUMBLE.

Caps goalie was insane tonight. :(

sigh,

Yet another OT game, another OT loss, down 1-3, don’t think my Hawks can win 3 in a row, especially w/o Hossa.

One game at a time. Go Penguins!

Fleury redeemed himself tonight. What a game!

Come on Preds… close out the Wings.

:( …

fwiw- we didn’t play well… We didn’t deserve to win. But I still think Weber is a piece of crap for what he did for Z and yeah, I’m still bitter.

It’s the head thing. Going after a player’s head.

PREDS moving on!

SplashMom,

They are the guys the pundits around Chicago were hoping the Blackhawks would avoid in round 1. I’m thinking it probably would not have mattered.

25 games for Torres.

Hey, I was pretty close…

Hopefully a lot of it will carry over to the next season where it will cost him some serious money.

Critical game for the Bruins/Caps this afternoon. If the B’s can’t crack Holtby, they will be in trouble.

Surprised, but encouraged, to read that Torres got the 25 game suspension. I am surprised only because the NHL has not shown much backbone when it comes to player safety. Shanahan in the NHL has to have been favorably influenced by Roger Goodell’s recent strong reaction to the NFL Saints bounty mess. If Torres has a hit worthy of suspension next year, he should be banned for life. What a thug.
