Stanley Cup playoffs 2012!

Greta, all about who you are and who you go after. If it had not been Weber who smashed Z’s head into the board, but rather some third string no name, he’d have had a few games. If Torres had been anyone of importance,he would definitely not have had 25 games.

Good decision on Torres. The number of games was clearly influenced by his history of thuggish behavior.

I hope the 25 goes really deep into his next season.

^^^^^When is the inevitable appeal going to take place?

Torres deserved it. He’s a really dirty player.

Watching Devils-Panthers right now. It’s a surprisingly good game.

Switching back and forth between the Sens/Rangers (Ottawa about to take a lead in this series) and the Sharks/Blues games. Chicago and Phoenix to start soon.

Not a good day for Boston sports fans. The Red Sox blew a 9 run lead to lost 15-9, and the Caps beat the Bruins to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Yikes! Hawks WIN in OT! also, a real great day for Chicago sports. Hawks, Bulls, Cubs and a perfect game for the Sox. Oh, and my favorite soccer team (Real Madrid) effectively won its league to day by defeating Barcelona. 7 pt. lead w/only for games to go.

Hawks heading home. 5 OT games in 5 played. Must be a record.

Exciting, gloworm! My H watched the game last night and enjoyed it.

Just turned on the pre-game show for the Flyers/Pens and they were showing all the signs in the audience. This is interesting because I remember the days when the ‘sign guy’ in Philly was unusual. Now, it seems, in many rinks that lots of people are making signs to take to the game. I don’t see that here in Canada so maybe it’s a U.S. thing.

I have to say, though, that the Flyers better hope that they’re abilities are better than those of one fan I saw holding a sign that said “Crosby crys more then I do”. Oy vey.

All day hockey today! Enjoy!

Wow, when Thomas gave up a soft one through the five-hole I figured the Bruins were sunk for sure.

But somehow they pulled it out, and now it’s back home for game 7. Whew.

womp womp.

Caps are usually terrible in Game 7s, so I would think Boston should be feeling good about themselves now.

I don’t know… 2-18 on the power play is pretty crappy and Thomas has given up some soft goals IMO.

Still, they’ll have the crowd behind them.

Big question for the Caps - how will a rookie goalie stand up to game 7 pressure?

I wouldn’t say I am confident though.

Uhg! Post 107 should read four games to go.

notrichenough,

When the Blackhawks won a couple years ago, their goalie was essentially a rookie. I’ll be rooting for the Bruins. an O-6 team.

Not even close! Not one win on home ice, either.

looks like you were right notrichenough… another one goal game that went to OT.

I am happy for the Caps. Happy they killed the bs penalty at the end of regulation and happy they finally came out on the beneficial side of a situation involving goalie contact in OT.

Gah… I missed the game but caught the OT on the radio.

I’ll say it again: GAH!!! D’OH!!! ARGHH!!!

Congrats to the Caps.

What a series that was!

more game 7s tonight… Rangers take the first one, so it will be Rangers-Caps and Philly-NJ/Florida. Round 2 starts tomorrow night.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the last time that the Stanley Cup was raised in Toronto. 45 years. The only way we Leaf fans get to see the Cup is to visit the Hockey Hall of Fame which is here.

So, round two. Watching the Caps/Rangers OT tonight, and switching over occasionally to the Nashville/Phoenix game. Anyone else still watching?

Heard it went to triple OT. Rangers won?

I was not going to stay up but how could I not? What a game! I have to (grudgingly) admit the winning goal more than half way through the 3rd overtime was beautifully executed. Sigh. They almost played 2 full games and Rangers won :(
