<p>It was a terrible game. The refs totally lost control and the players acted like idiots. It reminded me of the EHL games of my childhood and that’s not something that the NHL wants to emulate.</p>

<p>Torres has been on his best behavior. I assume he knows that the next time he headhunts, it will be his last play in the NHL.</p>

<p>Some fan put up a TORONTO STRONGER banner at the Leafs game. Dude, please. Some things are not fair game for smack talk, and a team reacting to horrible terrorism that killed and maimed people in their town is one of those things.</p>

<p>I understand wanting to make hockey safer than it was in the past. I don’t understand the suspensions being handed out like candy. I disagreed with most of the suspensions last playoff season and I disagree with the Abdelkader suspension.</p>

<p>meh… refs fed the Rangers power plays, 6 in the first 25 minutes of the game, including calling too many men on the Caps when the Rangers had literally 9 guys (+ the goalie) on the ice.</p>

<p>That said, Caps played quite poorly, Holtby looked mediocre in goal, and the 6 on 4 at the end was terrible. Caps will have to be better.</p>

<p>Caps have still never won a game 3 after going up 2-0 in a best of 7 series. Ever.</p>

<p>Red Wing fans are the only ones who think the Abdelkader suspension was wrong. Everyone else is saying, hello, he skated a long way, jumped up, and hit Lydman in the head, that’s a suspension for anybody. That was a no-brainer for Shanahan. I’m actually sort of rooting for the Wings in that series, but come on.</p>

<p>I didn’t see anything suspension worthy in the Sharks game. Just the usual cheap shots and interference we’ve come to expect from the Canucks. Even Henrik Sedin, of all people, crosschecked Logan Couture in the head. Sedin got to enjoy a rinkside seat in the penalty box to watch Couture score. And then 9 seconds after he left the penalty box, he was able to enjoy Patrick Marleau scoring. Heh.</p>
