… typical Caps again.

Caps have recently blown 2 game leads:
03 Tampa
09 Pitt
10 Montreal
13 Rangers

I just don’t understand…

I just don’t understand…

Yeah, that sucked.

Oh, Caps. Yet again a somber morning after game 7.

I could not have cheered louder or harder for you.

A bit sad in Toronto this morning but, all in all, it was a very exciting series and we’re proud that this group of young guys took the big bad Bruins to OT in Game 7. As I said in my first post, we didn’t expect more than four extra games so it was a fun ride and a good experience for these kids. Look forward to continued improvement next season. Until we meet again, Bruins!

I think I’m more sad for the Caps and their fans, although watching the game, even with the disparity in score, true hockey fans don’t leave the arena with over 13 minutes left in Game 7 in the playoffs. What a shame.

Games tonight in Pittsburgh and L.A. as the second round gets under way!

Although I understand the sentiment behind not leaving the stadium early, I get it.

As a Caps fan, we are taken to this place and disappointed too many times. It was sad to see the team fall apart last night. How else do you express your discontent to a team?

As a Caps fan, we will be back to cheer them on next year. They know that.

You could see on the tv that there were a lot of Bruins fans who left the game early.

Every one of them is lying about it today. :D

I admit, I had given up hope. A three goal deficit with 10 minutes left? How many times has a team come back from that ever, let alone Game 7 of a playoff series?

Actually, I can tell you how often it has happened in a Game 7: never, until yesterday.

Hopefully the Leafs can learn and grow from this, and not let it get in their heads next year. They are a likeable team with a lot of spunk, hopefully they don’t let this become their defining moment.

We stayed til the end. There were more Rangers fans in our section than Caps fans by that point.

you know it’s funny that Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Caps and Wizards, hasn’t had a need to fire either of the General Managers responsible for putting together either team. Why is that? Obviously is is not because they win so many titles…

people that work normal jobs pay $100+/ticket to watch a playoff collapse YEAR AFTER YEAR. Leaving early is all that is left. Ted is more concerned with marketing and “rocking the red” and “building America’s hockey capital” than I dunno… ACTUALLY WINNING SOME PLAYOFF SERIES.

maybe RGIII will kill the Caps bandwagon and Ted will have to make some changes if the Caps start to struggle to draw 15,000 again.

I feel for you soccerguy, we had years and years of that here in Chicago…decades.

Hang in there.

The Bruins went 40 years between Cups.

It took the Patriots over 40 years to win their first Championship.

The Red Sox went 86 years between World Series victories.

We’ve all been there.

(We won’t talk about the Cubbies. :D)

1967, my friends. No playoffs at all for the past ten years. Every game sold out, and could be sold out many times over. Being a fan is often tough, and I often think we are all crazy. I was thinking back last night to the beginning of this shortened season and how fans in so many cities were talking about boycotting the games, they were so fed up with greedy owners and players. Now we can’t get enough of our teams!

Blackhawks win!

Being a cubs fan is the definition of insanity. I almost wrote inanity, which it is, as well. And still we do it, year in and year out.

Oh, yeah, and… Hawks win! Hawks win!

I’m a die hard Wings fan but I’ve gotta say that save by Seabrook was some amazing hockey! I appreciate good hockey, even when we lose. That was good hockey. For the Wings to have few shots on goal compared to the Hawks was a travesty on the Wings part. But hey, we lost the first game to Anaheim too!

Yeah, first period was anybody’s game.

Always good hockey when the wings and hawks meet. Even when we were horrendous, the team played harder against Detroit.

Hands down, too, we have ALWAYS had the best national anthem. Just sayin’

Only saw the highlights. Go Hawks!

poetgrl, like you, I am a Cubs fan, but since I am anticipating a move across the pond next year, I’m distancing myself from watching baseball, hockey and basketball.

Only going to 1 Cubs game this season.

Anyone watching the Wings/Blackhawks?? :D

I’ve been hard on my Wings, but tonight they’re pulling it off!

Kane and his Knights knocked my Whalers out of the playoffs a few years ago. I’m still holding a minor grudge ;)

It’s a nice relaxing game, especially after watching the Bruins smoke the Rangers yesterday.

Oooph. The redwings are always a contender. Sad day in mudville.

I missed the first two periods. The Blackhawks just look very frustrated or something. It’s not normal play for them.

Howard’s earning his paycheck though!
