I’m shocked the refs were able to prevent a brawl.

I’m shocked Shaw didn’t punch the “refs” in the face, frankly.

No need for that kind of thing. The wings can win their own games.

Whew! That was an exciting game last night. Bad luck for the Kings for the quick whistle, but yay for the Sharks taking advantage of their good fortune.

Rangers have no heart

CF: We was robbed! Glad that our kings are coming home.

But I will say that our new found spirit (youngest daughter and me) of hockey has made this a more interesting place. I have been known to say, in a lovely tone, "Why didn’t …pay him back?! Slug him! While my youngest screams, “F, him up!”

Fight On Kings!!! (and yes, I am mixing up our university preference with the Kings. Noble institutions all)

I don’t know about that, but it’s clear they have no power play, and Nash is MIA.

Oy, if the Rangers go down, after my Knicks, I have only the Mets (yech!) until football. I’ll catch up on my reading.

I was travelling for the past week and didn’t see any games so I was in withdrawal! Last night’s Pens/Sens game looked like it was going to be a good one. The Sens were in control in the first period and Anderson was once again making some amazing saves. It didn’t take long once the second period started for the Pens to show that they had awakened. The Sens took stupid penalties and the Pens capitalized.

The 7-3 score isn’t even entirely reflective of the disciplined and powerful game that the Pens played. Crosby had a terrific game as did James Neal, and Iginla finally found a way to get the puck into the net. The depth of this team is amazing to watch, even with a supremely talented player like Malkin doing virtually nothing when he was on the ice. On to Pittsburgh for tomorrow night’s game.

Come on, Rangers, win at least one game!

What a boring game until the last few minutes but damn. Going to Chicago with a 3-1 lead. Never ever imagined this.

Go Wings!

I couldn’t find the Hawks/Wings game anywhere. It was on a channel I don’t get, but judging by the local media it was not good.

Even though they lost three in a row for the first time this season, it will be difficult to win the next three.

Go Wings (and Rangers)!! Howard has come up huge for the Wings.

Romani, if you think the Wings/Hawks game was boring, it’s a good thing you weren’t watching the Rangers/Bruins. We switched back and forth and everyone in the room remarked what a different game it was. The Wings/Hawks was such a skating game, and the Rangers/Bruins was not! The ice at MSG may have been bad but, oh my, what a sloppily played game. Glad to see the Rangers fans get to see a win, that’s always nice.

Howard played a good game but so did Crawford. The rest of the Chicago team seemed on the verge of self-destructing and Toews’ play and behavior was difficult to watch. What a shame after the season they’ve had.

We were switching back and forth between Tigers and Wings.

Yes, Chicago is self destructing. Toews seemed to be just off his hinges. It’s clear that Chicago doesn’t have any idea how to play from behind. And why should they? They’ve been in this position almost never during the season.

Howard, without a doubt, is our saving grace. However, he finally has some defense in front of the net-which he hasn’t had all season.

Yep. That’s exactly what I said, Romani. Don’t know how to play from behind, curse of a short season, never having been behind this year.

Congrats to the wings fans!

Baseball is never good in Chicago, turning back to international futbol.

As cubs fans everywhere know… “Wait til next year.” ;)

The Bruins are determined to make this a series. They have trouble closing out, for some reason.

The Rangers don’t scare me, though. I can’t see them winning three more.

Hey, poet, I know the pain. The Wings have been knocked out more than once coming in as a 1/2 seed because they had no idea how to play from behind.

And as all Lions fans know “lol nope”. :p

At least you have Theo, and hope that he can recapitulate Red Sox magic (WS champs in 2004 after waiting since 1918). Plus you have management willing and able to spend money.

As a Mets fan I got the Wilpons who lost most of their money to their pal Bernie Madoff.

I haven’t watched hockey this year as a protest against the game’s inability to understand violence. I’ve watched bits of the Bruins 2 series and caught most of the 4th Chicago-Detroit game.

The Bruins are better than the Rangers. They should beat them. They have better players.

What shocked me is the degree to which Detroit’s game has changed from when I last used to watch them regularly. Their personality is scrappier. I don’t mean violent - I only saw one hit last night where there was attempt to run a guy and that was a miss because Drew Miller avoided it. I mean they’re on the puck aggressively and compete for it all over the ice. Some of this seems to be because they’re relatively healthy at the skill positions, but some is a turnover of talent, particularly at the back end. Their defense works with the forwards in a more aggressive manner now, holding the puck less, trying to break out quickly - maybe because Detroit has always and still has issues when the play gets loose in front of the net. Maybe the defense had become too old, but the pace has picked up and they’re not letting the speed of Chicago’s forwards take over in their defensive zone. I remember when a guy like Cleary was an anomaly for Detroit, but now the roster has a bunch of guys like him who skate very well, muck in the corner and have skill.

I can say but one (or two)things: Go Kings! Score!!!

Actually, lactichever, 'round these parts it’s becoming… “Wait for another century”.

poetgrl, I was watching the soccer, too. Where will I be able to watch the next Hawks game?
I hope it’s not a a channel I don’t get.

gloworm, the game is on NBC (and CBC) Sat. night at 8.
