@privatebanker Oh, I know you were kidding. That winking smiley isn’t the best.
As much as I’m sad about my Leafs, it’s actually a lot more relaxing to watch the games now! Plus we have the excitement in Toronto around Vladi Guerrero Jr.!

?
Celtics could make it a home run for the Hub championship.
Or like golf and tennis. A grand slam. At least a triple crown. Lol.
All right I’ll stop. Boston fans aren’t as obnoxious as everyone thinks.
Did you stay up til the end of the game @privatebanker ? I couldn’t as I’m up early this morning to leave on a trip, and just saw that it went to the second OT.
I have a question for you Boston fans. I enjoyed the tribute to Havlicek before the game last night but was wondering, is there much of a crossover between hockey and basketball fans in Boston? There isn’t in many other cities, even if they play in the same venue. Just curious.
I’m on a flight to California right now too. Lol. . So missed it. In the Larry bird era and Kevin Garnett era. Yes a bit of crossover. But both b’s and c’s fans are usually pats and sox fans. Younger are celts. Older sox. Local townies like me are b’s. Everyone pats
I stayed up for the whole thing. It was so frustrating, we had so many chances to score!
I am a fan of both the Bruins and Celtics, then again I love all 4 teams.
When I grew up my dad was a Celtics and Red Sox fan first, Patriots next then didn’t really watch hockey. I got into hockey in high school and loved the Cam Neely/ Ray Bourque era. I love now when the crowd shouts for Rask because it sounds just like when they used to shout for Andy Moog- sounds like boos but it’s not. ?
If the Western Conference Finals end up Sharks vs Blues, I will be in a quandary. Hometown team playing the team where kid goes to school.
Giants look to be in a rebuilding so no baseball playoffs anytime soon. Hate the Cardinals, but if they play the Cubs, I hope they sweep them every time.
Home town team of course. I don’t care if my daughter was president of NYU, no way I’m rooting for the Yankees over Red Sox Lol.
I went to my first Red Sox game when I was 4. My father was an original BOSTON patriots season ticket hold. We were all Celtics partnership holders (the certificates were a gift one Christmas). There is a hunk of the Green Monster on my father’s desk. I haven’t lived in Mass for 50 years.
I often cheer for the local teams, but not when they are up against the Sox. And never a NY team. Ever. My daughter’s boyfriend takes a lot of grief and will have to convert (although he’s not a Yankees fan because that would have been a deal killer).
Hated all things St. Louis sportswise, especially the Cardinals. And the kid ends up going to WashU. And I need to compile a list of teams I hate so kid ends up going to grad school in one of those cites.
Sharks lost to the Penguins in the Stanley Cup finals. So Pitt Medical School looks good if he gets in. Hate New York sports teams, especially the Mets and Giants. So Columbia and NYU might be in the future for grad schools. Cubs beat the Giants in the 2016 NLDS-UChicago maybe?
And LA teams are the ones I hate with a passion…Kings and the Ducks have beaten the Sharks before. And no love for the University of Scammers and Cheaters…
I have nothing against Boston sports teams. Meaning no chance for the son to go to grad school there.
Since my beloved Wings continue to suck, my go-to has always been to support teams where I know players. A lot of the players I knew in their OHL days are retiring now so there goes that.
That said, I’ll be rooting for Dallas as long as they have Seguin playing for them. Go Stars.
@romanigypsyeyes Your Wings may be on the road to recovery with the return of Yzerman, no?
Here’s hoping! And Federov
Another win for the Canes! I have to chuckle at the banter between Canes’ fans and Isles’ fans, often referencing the chanting of “We don’t need you!” to Tavares this season, with the Isles’ fans continuing to make that claim. Come on now. There isn’t a team in the NHL who wouldn’t have been happy to have a 47 goal scorer on their team this year.
Will Dallas tie up their series tonight?
@romanigypsyeyes And maybe Datsyuk!
Former Capital Justin Williams scored the game winner tonight for Carolina. Thanks n other Caps alumni news, Trotz is on the ropes. We’ll see how Grubie does tomorrow against the Sharks.
Pavelski missed 3 games… not a good sigh. OTOH, I want him to get as healthy as he can before he plays again.

Pavelski did skate in practice yesterday in Denver, but not in the game. He MAY skate in game 7, but I doubt it. He was concerned about the altitude in Denver so maybe he will skate at home. No one has really said what the injury was, but have to assume a concussion.
In his interview two days ago, Pavelski basically confirmed that he had a concussion. He didn’t say the words, but he described the symptoms. It’s depressing that a hockey player is so familiar with concussion symptoms that he can run through them and say which ones he had and which he didn’t, but there we are, that’s what Pavelski did.
He also described what was causing the bleeding: a pressure cut to the scalp requiring eight staples. But that alone is the kind of injury where the hockey player misses a few shifts, not a few games.
In the same interview, Pavelski told the sweet story of how Joe Thornton comforted and reassured him when he was coming off the ice after the injury. Tenderness is a different side of a hockey player.

DH and I watched some of the Stars game last night while having a glass of wine in the bar of a restaurant.
Legit question: Is there any sport that burns more calories than hockey? My GOD, those guys are moving as fast and hard as they can every single second. They must be so incredibly fit, particularly from a cardiovascular/pulmonary perspective. I kept wondering how many calories they burn in a game, particularly one that goes into over time. These guys must have a huge appetite.
