@romanigypsyeyes Tyler Seguin had a fling with the GMs daughter while in Boston. Traded that summer. Lol.
Hockey players’ legs just burn for those 2 minutes they are on the ice. It is a two minute sprint, sit 2-4 minutes, go out and sprint again. Burn, burn, burn. Even my daughter who wasn’t a very good player or very fast came off the ice sweating like she’d just been lifting weights for an hour.
And they SMELL! Their locker rooms smell, the benches the sit on smell, their equipment smells, their feet smell in the car on the way home.
Phew…
The forwards better not be playing two minute shifts. Forty five second to a minute, and then change, or your coach will be very mad.
Okay, I didn’t notice that they subbed out that often. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a whole hockey game.
Back in the day, two minute shifts were common. These 45 second shifts would have been laughed at, and those were the days where the players never worked out, smoked, drank a lot after games, etc. The game today is much faster and the players are much bigger and in much better physical condition. Part of that speed is the quicker changes.
Wow, yet another controversial call benefiting the Sharks.
Should the play have been whistled dead? Yep. Clearly a hand pass. I understand why St. Louis fans are upset, and they should be. Refs missed the call.
Am I upset? Nope. Sharks got the W and I’m smiling. Ref Jose, baby!
My sons play hockey. They eat so much during the season I swear they could heat my house. And still they lose weight every season. My youngest, still in high school, goes through a half gallon of ice cream every other day. He eats three dinners daily, an hour apart. Cannot get enough calories into him.
Major conflict for me here as I live in Silicon Valley and kid goes to WashU. Geography says go for the Sharks although the Blues are the feel good story of the hockey season.
If the Sharks manage to pull this series out, I may have to replace my favorite Blues-Sharks playoff memory, Owen Nolan scoring “from the note” in Game 7.
Sharks with their firepower should do it. Timo Meier, Tomas Hertl, LoCo, and Little Joe can score at will. But my gut feels that the Blues will somehow find a way to win the Western Conference.
@“Cardinal Fang” Oh, I hope you weren’t at that game this afternoon.
Fortunately not. The Sharks are so beat up right now.
Oh, I know. I cringed when I saw Erik grimacing on the bench. For him not to be able to play, you know the pain must have been unbearable. And all of the others injured, wow.
Poor Sharks definitely need some rest…
I’m afraid they’re about to get the opportunity for a long rest.
Sigh… I am afraid so.
Good luck to the St. Louis Blues.

But go Blues.
