Michigan is rolling admission…you haven’t heard from them yet? Sorry about your deferral and that you are feeling low. Keep your head up and I think your chances are great for every school on your list. Remember that one deferral is just that…an invitation to wait some more.

Are you aware that you can submit your application prior to your score release? Aren’t scores released on Monday? I guess you must have waited for some specific reason?

Is this a retake or your first exam? You are a senior? Do you know the deadline for application to the schools on your list? Columbia SEAS for example?

treblechamps where are you from? Your plan doesn’t seem quite up to the task…just trying to be helpful here not critical. Who helped you devise your list and game plan? I would be worried.

I don’t think we are disputing that it is an acceptable date. We are saying that for example: UMich is a rolling admission, they fill spots as folks apply, you would be at the bitter end of the availability. Columbia won’t process your application until the scores are to them…also a very close timing. What if you are ill or there is an emergency and the testing site is closed for weather or other emergency??? I’d highly recommend you apply to at least one school that doesn’t require test scores…have you given that some thought?

I don’t know why I am having this conversation. You said you were testing on 28 Jan…either your app is going in on 02 Jan and and you have sent scores…or you haven’t sent any scores. Apparently you are testing and then sending all scores in early March. Thus you applications won’t be processed until your folder is complete, that means scores are at the college. Are you a US student?

ok ill try to explain this the way the admissions officer explained to me. if the jan 28 test is a RETAKE, then it is okay, as long as i send the app and the old scores before the deadline. the retake scores can be sent in february, and the school will consider them. they are perfectly happy with it, as long as they get the old scores before the deadline.

My advice is: submit an app to UMichigan NOW. You have a good chance there, UNLESS YOU’RE TOO LATE. Just get it in, and honestly, it might be better for you to just use your old SAT score and send it in now than to wait so long until you get a possibly better score. By then you’d certainly be too late. Good luck.

okay, i’m not waiting for that score before i send any apps in, im sending them all out next week. the new score is just for after, the schools all accept them. obviously i’m not going to wait and then send.
