I live in New York, so nearly every class I take is a Regents course. Currently I’m enrolled in an online academy to take Geometry, because I opted out to take Alg II before. Because the online institution isn’t in New York, it wasn’t taught as a Regents course, but I still need to take the exam for advanced Regents diploma. In the past, the exams affected my course grade, but I’m afraid the exam for this class will be lower than my previous scores. Since it isn’t affecting my GPA (because it is a transfer grade), will the Regents score alter my chances at scholarships or acceptance if it is low (but still passing)? Do state exams matter much?
