State Scholar Worth It?

Hi I am a current high school sophomore and I am quite intrested in trying for State AP Scholar next year (Junior Year).
I was wondering if such an achievement in Junior year could “make” an application to an especially selective school with good grades, high ACT/SAT scores, etc. Thanks

Thank you for the replies. I just want to make it clear that I was talking about the AP state scholar award that is awarded to 1 boy and girl in each state for taking the most AP tests ( near 20 in most states). Especially since DigitalKing said that it goes unnoticed
