<p>Just throwing it out there, maybe the status updates have something to do with financial aid. Did all of you guys who received the update apply for financial aid? My stats are not stellar but I did not apply for financial aid, did not receive a USC postcard in the mail recently, and did not receive a status update like a lot of you guys. </p>

<p>I doubt this has anything to do with the Financial Aid (FA). In most schools, the FA process is totally separated from the admission process. </p>

<p>I remember watching last year and there was a significant* status change indicating acceptance. It was different than what’s going on now, but I don’t remember specifics. Something to do with the date last updated. It seems to change every year, though.</p>
<p>*Early status updates generally indicated scholarship interviews, but there were exceptions both good and bad. Some got early update, no scholarship (but accepted early March, I think). Some got accepted/scholarship interviews w/o updates. So as someone mentioned earlier, it all conjecture at this point.</p>

<p>Perhaps those applications that have a status change are those who applied in time for the merit aid deadline. My son’s status has changed, and he applied by the Dec. 1st merit aid cutoff.</p>
<p>Have those of you with the status change already submitted their Fall 09 grades online? Some high schools are already finished with first semester finals but others have not yet finished.</p>
<p>S is busy taking 1st semester finals this week so no grades for this year yet submitted.</p>
<p>There’s someone from the midwest on another thread who got a status change saying committee has reached a decision and expect something in the mail. Has the wave begun?</p>
<p>PS I checked thorugh the USC Connect portal and it is VERY sluggish now and shows NO info on S’s status.</p>

<p>we don’t know what the statuses mean, but it seems like they are still in the process of changing statuses</p>
<p>It appears that midwestdad2 and annisele both have the “forwarded” status. midwestdad2’s s’s status changed and annisele’s receiving a package from usc ug admit. </p>
