<p>Cody, it’s a nice big, fat envelope. My son received that same packet two years ago. They put the admission letter in a folder. It’s very impressive!</p>

<p>OH NO!!! GOT A DIFFERENT STATUS MESSAGE!
It says"We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit them online even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st. "

<p>ajrover…i had that state for a few days and then i submitted my midyear grades (even though they didnt request them) and the nxt day it changed to your application has been forwarded for committee review…it just changed last night…so dont worry its not a bad thing…id submit mid year grades if there good lol</p>

<p>^ I’m assuming it changes to that same status if you get rejected but from my understanding they send out rejections last after all acceptances so I’d say your in. Congrats.</p>
<p>the thing that frustrates me about USC’s process is how random their decisions appear to be… from looking through the ‘stats only’ thread, it seems that the higher your ACT/SAT , the less chance you have to get the Trustee or Presidential scholarship. Obviously that probably isnt true, but its still sucks when you work hard to put up great numbers only to be passed over by applicants that appear less qualified. considering these are merit based scholarships i feel they should put less weight on extracurriculars, especially since most kids embellish this part of the application anyway</p>

<p>I’m thinking that, assuming what happened to me happens to everyone, your status changes to “forwarded” and after 1-2 weeks will change to “acted on by admissions committee.” If it doesn’t change to that rather quickly after being forwarded, you may be denied.</p>

<p>Cody…yay! what school/major did you apply for?..my sister’s status also changed to “…has made a dec…you will be hearing soon…” she then got the acceptance packet…and then the status reverted to the first status…Your application has been received…so don’t worry if that happens!</p>
