Stocking stuffers

last year I got some great ideas from a stocking stuffer thread on CC. Any new ideas for this year?

Are you referring to this thread?

I went to dollar tree the other day and they had a lot of things that could be used as holiday stocking stuffers.
I get movie tickets discounted from AAA to put in stockings.
Chocolate coins.
Eos lip balm or chapstick.
Holiday cookies.
Lindt chocolates.
Gum
travel/sample size cosmetic products to try new ones.
Antibacterial lotion.
Packets of hot cocoa.

I thought Pocket Monkey Multi-tool would be good stocking stuffer. Socks are always put to good use.

Fortunately, my college aged kids decided they are a-okay with no stockings this year. A little part of me is sad about it but its actually a blessing. All those stuffers really add up $$, my kids are fairly clean eaters and don’t really appreciate the candy, and we’re all trying to get away from all that stuff that adds to clutter. Perhaps suggest no more stockings? Sacrilege for some, I know.

I bought Amazon’s top rated pizza cutter for each of my kids…not too bad - $5.50 each.

Sacrilegious, yes!!! Stockings are a MUST in my family.

Two of my kids have apts and one is in college. I bought nice 6 packs of quality “chip clips” at TJ Maxx for 2.99. Kitchen utensils can be good stocking stuffers.

Costco has packages of 5 or 6 of the EOS egg shaped lip balm. I put one or two in each stocking. Cheaper than buying individually.

Socks are always a good idea. I like to buy really nice socks for H ,and plan to buy running socks for D, SIL and S.
The soft fuzzy socks are good, too.

I just bought the 12 pack of the tile- a tracker for keys etc Works out at $15 per gift. Perfect for stocking stuffers, everyone will be getting one this year!

@doschicos Thanks for the heads up on the multi tool. Last flight, husband lost his small pocket knife to TSA. This is perfect. Got one for each of my boys too. Great Hanukah gifts.

I found nice microfiber clothes (washable) for a couple bucks at the grocery store that you can use to clean an iPhone screen (also glasses, Nook screen, etc).

I’m curious about the tile thingys. Any idea how well these things work? My S has PERPETUAL keys/wallet issues!

H picked up some flashlights at Ace Hardware by the checkout counter. He also bought a hand sharpener from the local hardware store for S. S likes little tools.

My girls all cook, so I’ve gotten some special spices and seasonings for them. One is Trocomare, a Swiss herbal sal and another is coarse sugar with vanilla and cardamom. They both came in convenient long skinny containers that will fit well into stockings.

I kind of want a Tile myself. My kids might like one too. A bulk purchase might be in order.

I love doing the stockings although they can get expensive quickly. I try to balance bulky, inexpensive items like socks with smaller, more expensive things like jewelry.

Things I’ve done over the years: Hair scrunchies, cosmetics, cosmetic bag, perfume, nail polish, lotion, jewelry, small candles, gift cards (restaurants, stores, spa), event tickets, ornaments for their own tree (now or in the future), portable smart phone charger (Anker makes one that looks like a lipstick tube) and phone charging cords (these seem to disappear in my house!), cooking utensils, spices, wallet, key chain, money clip, manicure set, shoe polish kit, personal trimmer, old fashioned toys (slinky, jax, paper/balsa airplanes, silly putty, etc.), Chapstick, candy, wine stopper, corkscrew, coasters, cheese knives, olive picks, cute cocktail napkins, stationary, lanyards for glasses, golf balls, fishing lures.

H’s stocking often includes small tools. I found a neat magnetic wrist band this year that holds nails and screws while working - maybe it will motivate H to do more house projects ;).

I’m glad this thread was revived because I some new ideas for S this year. I like the pizza cutter idea!

We didn’t do stockings last year and I think they missed it. I’m going to revive it this year. Previously, car wash coupons was one not mentioned yet.

I bought a key finder from Amazon last year…love it! Saved me many minutes with the “where are my keys” moments. In the couch cushion, under a paper, in a pocket and once in the trash (so tired they went in with my deli bag)
I gave one as a grab bag gift at work and they liked it. (,my original one was “Where’s the remote” brand)

I am also buying my girls lots of travel size items since they both will be traveling a lot next year. Cute luggage tags are welcome also.
Last year my daughter who loves to walk, liked a wrist wallet I got her. I got one that was large enough to squeeze her Iphone 4s in but mainly she uses it for keys, money, etc.
Hand warmers were also welcome being outdoors a lot and I have always thought an extra phone charger or emergency portable phone charger is a nice stocking stuffer.

D wanted an Original Beauty Blender. Kind of expensive for, essentially, a makeup sponge, but it fits in her stocking. They always get toothbrushes - this year battery operated. And chocolates. And gift cards - Victorias Secret for her, WalMart for him. In the past, I’ve done keychains with small flashlights, lip balm, earbuds, a clip to clip keys to purse, a tuning fork (for musician), playing cards, hand lotion, tickets for events. book lights.

Oh I love this! H does lots of household projects and this would be perfect. Where did you find this?

I also throw a Farmers Almanac into H’s stocking each year.

D2 always needs ear buds – I have no idea what she does to them, but she asks for them every year.

Ear buds tend to not last long. I don’t lose them but go through 3 or 4 pair a year myself.
