No word about Honors here.
Anyone know how many Honors/WISE freshman does SBU accept each year?
We went to OOS admitted student brunch this morning and forgot to ask
Any chance of still getting acceptance?? Mid year grades requested and sent but haven’t heard back yet. Anyone else in same situation?
Stony Brook is going to cancel all classes and go online after spring break. I wonder if that means Accepted Students Day is cancelled too?
yes! They asked for my mid-year grades and I still haven’t heard back and it has been over a month. Stony brook is my top school, so I am really nervous about when my decision will come.
@LASLAS @flower101 i applied since December and decided to check my portal this morning and there was a decision there.
@ashola18 may I ask if you have received any email notification about checking the portal?
Thanks for the heads up. No emails or a portal update as of last night but will have my DD check after school.
@CollegeMom202x i still haven’t received the email yet. I only received an email saying that I received a scholarship which was before I received my decision on the portal.
Still waiting on Honors decision
did any biology majors get accepted yet?
DD was accepted Biochemistry
sknyc1 my daughter and two of her classmates are awaiting biology decisions. Hopefully, soon…
Just got a letter from the Honors College in the mail today!
@karms306 Congrats!
@onelittleredfrog Thanks! In case you’re wondering, the letter said that over 15,000 people applied for 100 spots, but I’m sure they accepted/waitlisted more people to account for those who don’t accept their offer. I think I read somewhere that the top 2-3% of the incoming class is accepted into the Honors College, though the number seems to be a lot lower based on what the letter says. Best of luck to you!
My son got his honors college letter in the mail yesterday. He was accepted as a Bio major in December. Has anyone seen their scholarship info show up in Solar yet?
Good luck to everyone!
I probably should’ve applied to the Honors College; I applied to WISE because I didn’t really know much about the programs. Got the letter today, though! Apparently WISE was 100 spots, 5500 applicants.
@karms306 The number is lower in the letter because not everyone who applied necessarily was accepted/ will be attending in the fall.
Same here, my DS got accepted to Biochemistry.
@ashola18 No, DS just keeps checking all school portals as part of his daily routine.
He found out he got accepted by Stony Brook by checking the portal, notification email is still MIA.
