The Dallas County Medical Examiner confirms the body of 3-year-old Sherin Mathews as been released, but would not say to whom. The cause and manner of death is pending. A couple dozen people attended a prayer and candlelight vigil Saturday for Sherin Mathews at the India Association of North Texas.

I would think the body would have been released to next of kin (possibly the mother) but that has not be disclosed.

The mother is now in police custody. Charged with abandoning and endangering a child. Her bond is set at $250,000.

Apparently the story has changed for a third time.
