We went totally wireless and use a hotspot for internet. No more Comcast! Also have YouTubeTV, Netflix, and Amazon. We dropped HBO after GoT ended. My son has Disney+, we are going to try it out over Thanksgiving break, mostly for ESPN+. But we mostly just watch sports and some old movies, so this time of year it’s YTTY.

Anyone else have a good sports alternative (we watch college sports only) < $50/mo?We will probably drop Netflix soon, not much interesting content anymore.

FYI, Using a Chromecast stick or AppleTV from your phone to display on a large screen works great too. We also found (when we had Comcast) that a 25 mb/ $20/mo connection was perfectly adequate for 3 HD streams or 1 4K stream. But the hotspots are a lot more versatile for traveling, and just a little bit more.

Check into fubo to see if it would meet your needs.

Can you explain more about this hotspot thing to me, the non-techie? So, basically you are using your phone’s unlimited wifi or is it something else?

My phone plan includes 15 gig of hotspot a month which I mainly use when I am traveling and/or don’t want to log into sketchy public wifi - it’s saved me several times when I was traveling a lot for work. And it is often nearly as fast as my cable or DSL wifi. I have thought of cutting that cord but I’d need a lot more hotspot than the 15 gigs.

My phone data plan is unlimited but my hotspot is not. I imagine there are phone plans with unlimited hotspot, and/or ways to jailbreak or otherwise force a phone to allow more than the carrier wants.
