What is the percentage of students in state to out of state? Is that recorded somewhere?

Hi, I know the common data set will give you more details but if you just want a quick glance, here is what I found at the " Facts At A Glance " Current Enrollment , 73% Virginia residents

For the longest time, VA has required UVA to be slightly more than two-thirds in-state students. The actual number varies a little bit each year, but not by much. Last year’s freshman class was 68/32%.

Yes, the 73% number may be skewed a little bit by grad and professional students. For example, the Ed school probably skews towards Va. residents. The two-thirds undergrad ratio has been in place for at least 35 years, and has been maintained as undergrad enrollment increased over the decades. The main change has been the big increase in international students, who count towards out of state students.

When my 2 kids were applying to UVA, I looked at the Common Data Set because it has a lot more info.
OP is out of state.

The CDS numbers for first time freshman are always between 68-71% in-state. It has been that way forever. The in-state numbers for total undergraduates is always more like 75%. Mostly due to incoming transfer students who tend to skew towards in-staters. For example, if you go to a Virginia community college and do reasonably well, you can get a guaranteed admission to UVA.
