Could anyone describe what it means when it says the CS minor is competitive? I would like to do Commerce and a minor in CS because I think a major in CS is too damaging to GPA for Comm School.
CS Minor (6 classes) is not available outside of Engineering. However, the CS BA Degree is available to students in the College/McIntire. The Intro Level CS classes are really not GPA-killers…I believe the first two classes have average grades in the B or B+ range…just like Economics and the Comm School pre-reqs. It’s later on when it gets more difficult. The CS BA is not a ton of extra credits and is very flexible…the only downside is that it is pretty competitive. If you’re interested in the BA you want to be sure you get an A- or A in CS 1110/CS 2110/CS2102.
