Student Teacher teaching Ap Course!

I was wondering if anyone knew if student teachers are allowed to teach Ap courses for extended periods of time.
Recently, in my AP Gov class, we have gotten a student teacher, who after not even observing the class for a full week has completely taken the class over. She has not gone forward with the lessons and insists upon attempting to teach the same topics from the beginning of the year. The actual teacher just sits in the class and watches (almost as if she is the student teacher)
Now I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that Ap Teachers had to be certified. If there is such documentation, I would highly appreciate it if someone could point me in its direction. Thank you.

I would contact College Board on this question; I know that in most school districts I have worked in, student teachers are not permitted to teach in an AP classroom.

He has to be AP certified.

We had a student teacher in my AP calc class. Just think of it as a preview to your TAs in the future.

Is she teaching the wrong material? Is she a bad teacher? Are you not learning?

I would think that would be a bigger concern then whether or not she’s “allowed” to teach.
