Study and a full time job ?!

What do you think is it possible to attend a full course load with a full time job? Can you tell your own experience?

International students (on student visas) are not allowed to work full-time while classes are in session, so you will have to ask for experiences on one of the other subforums. I suggest the Parents or College Life sections.

b@r!um I’m going with work visa ;)

I know that. I was just letting you know that you won’t get first-hand experiences from international students because international students cannot legally be in your position.

aha
What about private message
you’ve been very helpful with your advices and thank you for that

American students don’t generally study very hard.

This is a good question to ask in the Parents Forum. Lots of us have worked and studied at the same time, and you can get useful ideas there. From my own experience, I can tell you that there are many variables that affect how difficult it is to hold down a full-time job while studying. These include, but aren’t limited to:

 1. Job Responsibilities
 2. Full-time vs. Part-time studies
 3. Undergraduate vs. Postgraduate course level
 4. Course delivery (live in the classroom vs. online)
 5. Specific program of studies
 6. Specific instructor
 7. Specific course
 8. Specific college/university
 9. Your organizational skills and self-discipline
 10. Your other time commitments

If you are not already in the US and working, you should wait until you have started that job to find out how demanding it is of your time and energy. Once you know that, you will be in a better position to determine whether studying is possible at all.

That I see also when I compare American and European colleges. You think it is possible to study and to work simultaneously, it is little bit harder to do coursework, but if you like than and you really want that it is possible.
