Is it UVA, UVa, or U.Va.?

It’s UVA. VA (short for Virginia) is always supposed to be capitalized…like NY for New York.

wow…lol

now before you go “wow”-ing me, look here: http://www.seas.virginia.edu/StyleGuide.pdf Also, on almost any Virginia website, they refer to it as U.Va.

that’s why I asked. And many of the current students say its UVa

ok…i can see where u are coming from

I used U.Va. in one of my essays because that’s how they refer to it on the website. I got in.

Haha yeah that’s why I brought this up. I had always thought it to UVA since VA is capitalized, but students say UVa, and I think that they only say UVa because it should be U.Va. and no one wants to add the extra periods. Thats my guess. I’ll go with U.Va.
