Successful Kickstarter project?

Has anyone successfully had a project of theirs funded on Kickstarter? I know the minimum age is 18, so I’m kind of stretching it here.

I’m working with a friend to produce a one-for-one anti-bullying compilation album. For every album sold, a copy will also be donated to a struggling youth. My organization is responsible for distributing the donated albums.

Any tips on how to make the project successful?

My org’s Facebook following is pretty reliable, we’ve got just under 290. However, our goal is around $8,500. In order for this to be successful, we’ll probably need people who aren’t directly connected us to donate.

We’ve got some pretty sweet rewards, including merch from my org and my friend’s business (shirts, stickers, bracelets), album preorders, tickets to the release show, Twitter/Facebook shutouts, a thank you in the album booklet, personal thank you videos, and one autographed piece of memorabilia from a pretty high-profile band.

What would cause you to back this project? For those of you who have successfully had a project funded, what worked for you?

Thank you, CC!

Bump!
The Kickstarter is up now, and I’d really love some tips to make it a success!
