Yes! I believe he went to one last week.
Also, I know it gets a bad rap because brutalism, but I really like the CFA.

Fun Fact: The CFAās meandering design is the result of a deliberate attempt to preserve a collection of specimen and old-growth trees that had been a quiet place of contemplation - as well as storied midnight assignations - before the formerly all-male college became co-ed in 1969. Some of that that Edge of the World feeling persists today.
Could you please define what you mean by āmedium size schoolā.
S24 is at UVM for environmental science & is in the honors college. While the on-campus housing is a great perk, the honors college doesnāt add much rigor. That said, the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources is excellent. In terms of rigor, I can recommend the program, but not the university.
The culture would be a good fit. Indeed, there are āpocketsā of the traits you describe. The university and the city are LGBT friendly. I think one could find pockets of rigor, too. UVM would be a strong safety school.
Sorry for confusion you are talking about the film series at Syracuse? Sounds fantastic!
Oh, no. My bad. I meant Wesleyan University:
Thats so funny bc when I read your post I immediately assumed you meant Wesleyan. That sounds like a vibe my daughter would love. Does the student body feel fairly down to earth or is there a snobby element? My daughter is coming from a fairly annoyingly snobby LI High School so that wouldnt be an element she hasnt dealt with before.
Oh, no. These kids have been taught to ācheck their privilegeā from like - birth. Seriously, the vibe I get at football games and from shopping at the local sandwich shop is of largely middle-class kids from all over the country who are empathetic, friendly and really take their cues from the surrounding community which is very blue collar.
Wow. This sounds utopian. Thank you so much for this feedback!! I myself am from the midwest and want a less abrasive more diverse culture for my kids college experience.
Which sandwich shop? Weāre still trying to pinpoint the best places.
Have you ever done a list of Wes restaurant recs?
Well, thereās Neon Deli which is where I may be getting a biased point of view because it is located almost exactly a block away from the gymnasium. But thatās the thing; you canāt accuse Wesleyan of being a mono-culture when there are so many different kinds of people in attendance. The much bigger destination IMO is Main Streetās Brew Bakers (which closes at 2PM) at the foot of College Street. āPerk-at-Mainā is also popular. The RJJulia bookstore would be my second or third runner-up (but mostly for the coffee.)
