To the Class of 2010 and before: is the summer assignment graded in any capacity? I heard that the freshman writing seminar professors have the option of using our essays as the first grade of their classes.

Regardless of if it is graded or not, would any of you suggest doing it or is it just a waste of time intended to give the incoming class something common to talk about?

fahood is my real name

I think the “essay” is just a couple short-answer questions, so I don’t think there is any harm in doing it

pass/fail my ass, you don’t have to turn in anything although Cornell will send you e-mails about it and you’ll have crap to do during orientation week with it. It’s a pain in the ass, but just ******** the crap and you’ll be fine.

haha, now i’m going to have to be careful about what i say on both things–everyone knows who i am! haha…maybe i should have though about that before I picked a u/n with my actual name in it…lol

haha, I guess there were moderators up on it thinking we were all crazy to be enjoying a chat at like 3am. and it went on after i signed off, lol.
