I recently read about a summer camp at UVA…I think it’s called Leadership on the Lawn or something like that. Does anyone know anything about this?

UVa offers several summer camps.

Here is a link to Leadership on the Lawn:

[Leadership on the Lawn](http://www.virginia.edu/vpsa/leadershiponthelawn)

UVa Sumer Enrichment Program (SEP) is also a great program. The date for application is past, however for future reference here’s the link:

The Introduction to Engineering (ITE) summer program is still accepting applications:

The Sumer Language Institute is also still open to applications:

[Summer Language Institute, U.Va.](http://www.virginia.edu/summer/SLI/index.html)

And the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership:

I am sure there are others, but these are the ones I know off the top of my head. If you are interested you’ll want to get moving on the applications. Several require a transcript and LOR. Not hard to do, you simply need to allow time to get all your documents in order. It is worth the effort! :)

There are a good number of summer programs listed here:

[U.Va. Programs & Activities for Kids](http://www.virginia.edu/uvakids/programs/index.html)

The UVA Young Writer’s Workshop is a fantastic program, but unfortunately with all the construction this summer on campus, the program is not going to resume until next summer :(. The application deadline is March 1 --highly recommend it for kids interested in poetry writing, fiction, songwriting, and playwriting. The experience was life-changing for my son (he went two years). YWW is through Curry School of Education as well.

Thanks! :)

@tmcclain2012 Glad you got all the information you needed about all of UVAs summer programs back when this posted.
@jkwmom Young Writers Workshop is definitely awesome. The students seem really inspired by the creative environment.

My daughter did it last summer. She loved it. Nice kids, interesting topics, a chance to experience college life. They did quite a lot. PM me if you’re interested in more. Most kids were between junior and senior year.
