H refused to go with me to Chicago to see Pearl Jam. ![]()
But I need a big concert to look forward to & I heard http://www.paulmccartney.com/ puts on a great show.
Plus it is outside!
What shows are you looking forward to?

Bought tickets last week to see Maroon 5 with special guest star, Kelly Clarkston!!! Woo hoo - super excited!!! My concert will be end-ish of August. :)

I love summer.
& so many festivals now.
But I have to get off the stick & schedule my knee replacement so I can enjoy them.

I am seeing Bon Jovi in July. I was bummed to find out Train would be in town on the same night, or I’d have gone to that, too.

We are leaving for Florida for vacation the next day and my birthday is the day after that. Should be a VERY good week. :)

There is a great outdoor concert location in Detroit right on the Detroit river called Chene Park. I have never attended a concert there, but Michael McDonald is performing there in August and I think that will get me there. Either that or the B-52s and the Go-Gos.

Em…you won’t regret Paul McCartney. He put on a fabulous, non stop 2 1/2 hour show. Still has the energy and the passion…

DH and I bought tix for us and all our kids and their spouses (or almost spouses) to go see Ben Folds Five, Barenaked Ladies, AND Guster ----all in one amazing show at the end of July.
:)

Thats what I heard.![]()
I just spent about that much to hear a couple locals who shall remain nameless who are going to be inducted into the r&r hall of fame next week & I was so disappointed as it was obviously geared for rabid fans who were looking for unusual and obscure from their heroes, which I am not.
( it didnt help that they spent much of the time responding to the same few idiots in the crowd)
I also dont think the r& r hall of fame is always representative of who should be there, unless rock & roll actually means " pop" music.

I also just discovered that some of my favorite local musicians have formed a Neil Young/Crazy Horse cover band & play my favorite tune!
[Los Caballos Locos - YouTube](<a href=“Los Caballos Locos - YouTube”>Los Caballos Locos - YouTube)
Its hard to keep track of local music because everyone I like is always starting up a new band and playing in about 5 or 6 at a time.
:)

That sounds fun churchmusicmom, I think last time we went to see a concert as a family it was to Tickle Tune Typhoon!

An Evening with Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field! My sister-in-law and I were both lucky enough to win the 10Club ticket lottery so we will both have fan club tickets. We are taking our teenage daughters who are our regular concert buddies. Nothing like a 9 hour road trip (one way!) to Chicago to see our favorite band!

It has become our tradition to do a Pearl Jam trip every year if possible. Music Midtown last year, PJ20 the year before, Indianapolis in 2010, etc. plus EV solo shows if within driving distance. Waiting impatiently for the PJ Fall tour to be announced and hoping they make it to the south or at least somewhere within driving distance.

Also considering Warped Tour in Atlanta again this year, but it was so terribly hot last year that I swore I would never go again. But Hawthorne Heights and Billy Tallent are playing so that makes it hard to pass up.

Say hi to Laura T & Bean for me! ^^^^^

Im getting to see Jeff Ament & Mike McCready next month ( & I saw Mike last month when he helped Duff with his documentary) but I knew I would regret not getting tix to PJ20.
Jeff Ament/RNDM will have played more shows in Seattle in the past six months than Pearl Jam has played in the last three years.

Solat, ya know what the most exciting thing about getting tickets for McCartney so far has been?
- getting tickets *
;)

If my family’s trip to London goes through this summer, I’m 100% going to go to The Proms or Promenade Concerts. I’m very excited about possibly going and listen to the best classical music!

Emerald, I am envious of the McCartney show. He has been on my concert bucket list for years. I almost got to see him at Bridge School Benefit a few years ago, but ended up not being able to go. He also played Nashville in the last couple of years but I couldn’t make that either. I am not giving up on seeing him one day! :)

Paul McCartney is playing Bonnaroo this year, which I was thinking of going to from Seattle, until I started thinking about what that actually entailed.
But I mainly wanted to attend to see Glen Hansard.
However, as soon as he gets within 500 miles of Seattle I am going.
( the first time I saw him was in Detroit with Eddie & I was blown away & I don’t say that lightly)

But maybe Dave Grohl will play with Sir Paul- that would be ( as the kids say
) epic!

Natalie Merchant at Bethel Woods (the old Woodstock site)

Summerfest in Milwaukee is billed as the world’s largest music festival. This summer they have FUN., Pitbull, Violent Femmes with the Avett Brothers (!), Silversun Pickups, John Mayer and a whole bunch of “classics”–Tom Petty, Eagles Rush, Foreigner, Billy Idol–along with Blues Traveler, Buddy Guy, Willy Porter, and many more.

[Summerfest Lineup](http://summerfest.com/lineup)

solat10, you should keep driving after your Pearl Jam concert and check it out. Milwaukee is only 1.5 hours north of Chicago. :)

We’re going with D2 to see her absolutely favorite band, The Killers. 3rd row. She may spontaneously combust.

With D1, I’ve agreed to see the return tour of her fave HS band, Fall Out Boy.

A few shows coming up this summer that we may see, waiting to see how schedules look. I’m very excited that Adam Ant is touring. Srsly. Never saw him in the 80’s.

Mickey Hart Band in May, Patterson Hood in June, hopefully Jerry Garcia Band w/Warren Haynes and the National Symphony at Wolf Trap

Bruno Mars, Eagles and keith urban with Little Big Town. Also B52’s and the GoGo’s D is going to Taylor Swift, glad she can drive a bit tred of her.

EK…
Wanna see Paul (plus tons of other entertainers)? Come to San Francisco in August…

Don’t judge me, but surprising my youngest daughter with tickets to see the Jonas Brothers this summer - if my older daughter can’t go (she’s a teenybopper at heart!) then I may be accompanying 2 giddy girls to that concert as well!!

I will say, there is nothing like a nice summer night + an outdoor concert to = great time!
