Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

I know a few people that got in after they sent their transcripts in that had less than 30 hours at the time of applying for CNS and COLA.

Thanks @cagirl24 !!! I appreciate that! Sigh. This sucks. But I don’t even expect anything when I check my status anymore. I only do it like twice a day now. My roommates here in Boston have signed a lease and I’m just still floating in this weird gray area. Haha. I feel bad for making them wait on me so much but there’s nothing I can do about it.

I really am in a bind. I got into the health career school at Texas State waaaay back in April. I am really rushed to apply for orientation there and find an apartment (dog friendly apartments aren’t as plentiful as I’d hoped…). I feel really strung along by UT. Hopefully this week is the last I’ll have to worry about. I HAVE SO MUCH **** TO DO!!

@Mohyeen what was your financial aid like if u don’t mind me asking?

@ecollin Yeah! Didn’t you?

@regmi1 Its fine lol.

Grant: $5,776
Scholarship:$6,288
Work study: $3,600
Sub Loan: $4,500
Un-sub Loan : $5,800

If you have any other questions, please ask. :slight_smile:

thanks a lot for sharing @Mohyeen . wow that’s some good amount of money… Was ur EFC in FAFSA like 0?

@regmi1 i had a question for you from a friend ? … is it true that all the orientations for natural sciences are full besides the august one ?

not really. i had three options to choose from, July 9-10 (for which i registered), July 16-17 i guess, and there was August one( late august like couple of days before class). n its like 98 dollars total ( accommodation and meal card of 25 dollars worth)

oh wait… my bad there was another one for June 25-26 too

@regmi1
Yes … I have no parents here. Just an assigned legal guardian ( and having a legal guardian makes me an independent student) …

But i don’t think this matters, cause they didn’t even ask for documents to prove i have a guardian.

@MyLonghorn Yes that’s what I have heard. When I signed up for orientation I had a choice but now I think August is the only one left.

Well, day one of the “Week of Destiny” was pretty quiet. It’s been crazy tough for me considering I’ve been registered for June summer classes at my current school in case UT said no. Those start next Monday and the payment deadline is Friday. Plus, one of those classes is a mandatory class a dropped in January because it wasn’t going to transfer. I was able to find the same class in the July session at my school, but should I actually need to take it if UT doesn’t work out, it would be a pain to take it in July while then hunting for a new apartment. Hopefully we all find out within this week so things like this won’t happen. Good luck everyone!

Getting seriously fed up with this… Cannot believe how many people we are (and how many of us who had all of our requirements completed even before the spring) who have not heard back. Today when I called I was told “there is no exact date when we will hear back the latest, and that for all she knows it may even be August.” I can only wait a few more weeks. I have my living situation taken care of (I will live with some friends.) I cannot even imagine the stress for all of those who do not know where to live yet…

@ecollin I honestly thought UT Austin would be on their game with something like this. Are they hoping to deal with the excess amount of students by delaying the decision for like a month?

I just have a really hard time believing the August thing because it’s logistically impossible for them and us. The person I talked to last week and yesterday both seemed pretty adamant about either this week or early next week. I do agree that at some point you have to wonder if it’s even worth it or not.

Does anyone know if they post your second choice major before the first?
In my scenario my first choice is ECE and second choice is CNS Computer Science.
I know people who have gotten into Computer Science, and I was wondering if they only post it once the first choice Major has been decided?

Thanks

Just got off the phone with admissions and they told me Moody applicants should receive decisions by mid-June but it could be “earlier or later than that”… Vague much? Lol

lol, that must have been the best one so far “earlier or later than mid June…” what does that even mean?

Hi Guys like most of you I was accepted into A&M like a month before … But now I am thinking if UT is going to even release decision before July 1. This is the date before which I have to accept the admission offer from A&M. My question is if I accept A&M’s offer and after few days let’s say UT also accepts me hopefully, can I still accept the offer of UT and do I need to do something else?
