@Singh0001 That’s what my friend did. He accepted his offer at A&M, registered for classes, got his ID card, and did everything that was required to register. If he get’s accepted to UT, he would drop the course and accept UT’s offer. I might do the same thing.
@TheThinker7 thank you for the information I guess I will wait till 20th June and then just accept the offer.
I wonder anyone know about how does UT calculate you repeated course grade? Average? Higher grade? Most recent grade? Thank you!!
@Yoohooos pretty sure they average it out and factor in that you retook it.
Could somebody chance me? This decision is so nerve-wracking, best of luck to everyone!

Dang it UT… just the Pell Grant. How am i suppose to pay? This is not community college anymore and i just cannot work n study both full time anymore. Hope A&M comes up with a solution or else i dont know what i will end up doing.
If I’m currently taking a summer course, do I have to submit a transcript to show it’s currently in progress? It started June 1st, the transcript deadline, so I obviously couldn’t submit one before then.
This morning is quiet. Anything new?
@JD1327 As long as you have your 30 transferable credits and it’s not a required course for the college you’re seeking admission in, then just submit it when grades are posted.
@regmi1 Did you get subsidized or unsubsidized stafford or parent plus loans? If not, then I’m screwed, because my parents make too much for me to qualify for need-based scholarships…
Just wondering, has anyone received denial letters yet ? or are denial letters mailed out the very last day?
A few people have @Fayleighcc
@arod356 yes they offered me 4500 subsidized and 5500 unsub loan but i am not sure if i really wanna take it.I was hoping to save enough for housing and food by working this whole summer, thinking that i would at least get the tuition covered with Pell grant and little bit scholarship from UT… Now turns out i am extra 4K sort on tuition alone.
It’s been my dream school and all that but if i can get thru undergrad from A&M without taking loan hell i might consider that. I know college station is shit place to live and i might regret it later but seriously thats like 10K difference. Ughhh i cant decide…
I was admitted to COLA for psychology as a transfer student last week, a week ago exactly. I was not able to attend for Summer term for various reasons but I went through with accepting anyway just in case and I put in an appeal and it was approved today! Just in time too, since my tuition bill was due today at 5pm…So I’ll be matriculating in the fall! I won’t be living on campus though, at least not for the fall, since I want to keep my part time job.
I might be a bit of a special case with regards to stats, since I actually already have a bachelor’s degree in English from Amherst College. I have over 100 transferable credits, with a GPA of 3.0, higher if you only count major courses. Various clubs, from member status to president status, including Anime club, fencing, Pride, the on campus newspaper, and a few more but these were my main activities. I held four part time jobs my senior year. One at a, global literacy organization, one at the dining hall, one as a telementor, and one as a docent at the natural history museum. I didn’t submit for AP credits or submit ACT or SAT scores so those didn’t account for anything with regards to admission.
I’m very excited and much more upbeat than I was last week! I hope all the other decisions come out very soon!
@regmi1 Same… UTSA awarded me a $15000 Presidential Scholarship. I’ll be paying full tuition if I’m accepted because I already expended private scholarships during my freshman year at UTSA. FAFSA said that my Direct Stafford Loan estimate is $6500, but will that mean that UT will award me that amount, plus possibly qualifying for a Parent Plus loan?
@arod356 yes that means u r a dependent student which qualifies u to take out total loan of 6500 dollars. of which 4500 will be subsidized and rest unsub. my case is similar to urs but i am an independent student so i get abt 10500 dollars loan 4500 sub+ 6000 unsub. I think ur parents are the one to do the Parent Plus loan. I might be wrong since i have no idea how that one works. My parents are not here.
@regmi1 One more thing, If you choose to attend UT, are you going to live on-campus? I put the $50 deposit, but what are the chances of housing still being available?
Hey guys I got accepted today but not for my 1st or 2nd choice. They are giving me the option to choose another major but I feel like internal transferin into engineering is harder and that I should stat at my current college Texas tech. Would love your opinions.
@arod356 Sorry i have no idea abt housing too. I will be living off campus prolly around the north side if i attend. But i guess u will get housing on campus if u have already applied for it.other option here is to apply for university apartments and wait for a year lol
@utlooker10101 I would think three times over about deciding to go to Tech. I just left lubbock and I kid you not it was by far the worst first year experience I had. There was no soul in the school unless you were apart of greek life and the city is down right awful for students. My roommate didn’t make it any better and I am sure people had a wayyyy better year than me. Anyways I thought it was terrible and would not wish anyone that pain.
