Im applying for ChemE and still in review. My international friend was accepted for ChemE about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and one person in here was rejected with a 3.9
@UTchemE95 I haven’t seen a single ChemE so far. There were a couple of PetE though, for Summer ones I guess. I’m so anxiously, nervously waiting myself, no sign yet so far…nervous, since Cockrell has started releasing results.
Admitted to ME. stunned
Got admitted to my 2nd major EE this morning. I didn’t make it to ChemE
Got into my first choice Aerospace Engineering so happy omg … Hook em!
Congrats to you guys!
Rejected from chemE with a 3.94 GPA.
You’ve been admitted to The University of Texas at Austin. You’ve been accepted for admission and will be eligible to begin your studies effective Fall 2015.
We are unable, however, to offer you admission to the first- or second-choice majors you selected
@UTchemE95 You were still admitted at least. Congrats
Got rejected from my first two choices, ChemE and PE, with a 3.92 GPA and 42 credit hours. Debating whether or not I should choose a major from the Department of Liberal Arts, then internally transfer, or if I should stay in the community college and finish the remaining classes that I plan to take this Fall.
I think I got rejected because I don’t have enough credit hours.

This is what I received this morning:
You’ve been accepted for admission and will be eligible to begin your studies effective Fall 2015.
We are unable, however, to offer you admission to the first- or second-choice majors you selected. Rather, you have the opportunity to finalize your offer of admission by choosing a different major from a list of colleges and schools with space available.
Gosh, i applied for chemE too with a 9.4, still in review but i know i’m screwed
Just got into ME! Really surprised honestly, I’ve been rejected from like 5 other schools so I wasn’t expecting to get into my first choice, but I did. For future applicants reading this thread, it appears that GPA and prereqs are the biggest factor in your decision… I had literally no extracurriculars and I’m from an out of state CC but I did well on the required courses and that seems to be all that mattered.
Anyway, just paid the housing application fee. Am I likely to still get a spot on campus?
Accepted to Electrical Engineering (1st choice).
Stats:
CAP Student at UT Arlington
Transfer GPA: 3.73
UT Arlington GPA: 4.0
Lone Star Dual-credit GPA: 3.3
The dual-credit classes were the only thing I felt were holding me back from being a strong applicant. One of my essays explained this situation.
Courses:
Cal 1 - A
Cal 2 - A
Chem 1 - B (High school)
Chem 2 - A
Eng. Physics - A
And a bunch of gen. ed. classes.
I wrote 3 essays, 1 recommendation letter from my Cal 1/2 professor.
Congratulations to everybody who were accepted recently and good luck to those still waiting for a decision! Hook’em \m/.
Accepted into Economics with 3.2 GPA but grade trend of 3.7 for the past year. Two extremely strong essays and 3 letters of rec.
You might think I’m crazy but im turning UT Austin down for Texas Tech. At UT my gpa limited me to only studying economics. TTU accepted me for double major into economics and computer science with a minor in math with a writen agreement of automatic acceptance into MS for finance after undergrad if my GPA is 3.0 or higher.
I am excited for you all and feel blessed and proud to be accepted into UT but my my options there were limited greatly. Just love for yall thanks for the support when I applyed and always being real! Yall hook em (:
Ps. Gonna frame my letter from UT so yall don’t give me crap in the future haha
Anyone know if housing is still available?
@stevenjp I heard Jester is already full, Idk about anywhere else but if Jester is full everywhere else might be as well. When I say Jester is full, I mean that the permanent rooms are filled, there are some supplemental rooms still available I think because a friend of mine told me he got offered that.
I just got accepted for my first choice which is ECE!
My GPA is 3.74 and no letters of recommendation. Man, I was so worried yesterday!
Has anyone heard back from Moody? I haven’t heard many people finding out from them yet. At this point I will be pretty content if I just get in for my second choice major in COLA.
@thethinker7 which orientations are still open? for engineering a friend of mine who hasn’t gotten admitted yet is asking and i can’t check since i already registered for the june one
@morganl15 haven’t heard from Moody yet, but I called yesterday that June 15th is still when we can expect to hear by. Could literally be within a couple of hours. Just have to keep checking! What major did you apply for?
@aksamq8 Journalism as my first choice and rhetoric and writing as my second
