Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@MyLonghorn

Cockrell School of Engineering: June 25-26, July 9-10

I just registered for June 25-26 an hour ago.

@thethinker7 kk thanks …and cya there

@morganl15 journalism is my major too. Haven’t seen too many journalism majors on here. Hopefully we hear back soon!

Lol I feel like I’m the only one waiting for CS… :S

Has anyone heard back for Nursing??

I’m transferring from ACC
First choice major: Nursing
Second choice: Bio
I have 31 credit hours with a 3.81 GPA
A good resume and a many community service hours
A very good statement of purpose
Only one letter of recommendation

I haven’t heard back yet and its killing me. Has any other transfers applied for nursing and found out if they’ve been accepted or not?

I have been accepted to UT-Austin for petroleum engineering. I got the message today. However, I have been accepted to UIUC for computer science. I am debating which one to pick up.

Can anyone tell me which is better?

How many internationals accepted? I’m waiting for Moody 1st RTF, 2nd Journalism, 3.87 GPA. barely 30 credits

@mshaikh both are fantastic … but it really depends on what you like more … do you like geology and reservoir and oil or do you computers and coding and systems architecture ? there is no wrong decision to your questions … its what you want to do with your life

Any word on McCombs?

I like both fields. But for PE, some people say family life is a little challenging.

Anyone here knows about Chem major? I have chem CNS for my second choice, i dont think i can get into my first choice of ChemE with a 3.94. Do u guys think i still have a chance for CNS?

@mshaikh that’s very debatable … Idk if it’s hard but the job requires you to move to very remote areas where there isn’t much and a lot of traveling to reserves but you also get paid for it … However it’s also less stable then CS since pet E depends on the oil prices however it’s doable … Again do what you think you can do for the next 50 years … Do what you like the most

Anyone still planning on living in campus? Looks like we’ll be getting 4 person supplemental housing

@UTlimbo I’m assuming you applied to McCombs 1st major, but did you finish all your indicator classes? I too applied to McCombs and am currently waiting for the decision to arrive.

@stevenjp If I get admitted, I’m planning on living on campus. I have a friend who will also join me and we’re planning on just chancing it and hoping the third and/or fourth guy will be an okay/decent guy.

If I go to Austin, I would have to stay with my family.

OK. I gave in and made an account after lurking the crap out of both this thread and last years thread to find any correlation for a probable decision date. I have accepted that I just need to exercise my patience even though this wait is making me want to claw my eyes out.

1st choice: moody pr
2nd choice: cola history

3 excellent essays, great resume with 100+ hours of cs + I have held a part time job sophomore year of high school till now.
2 LOR’s from 2 professors at cc here in dallas
just finished my 30 hours in spring semester.
3.7 gpa

If anyone wants to chance me go ahead, I am feeling 50/50 at this point. Ive been in review for about 3 weeks now.

Other than that good luck to everyone else! It will all be over soon and we can start finally start planning our future. “Expect the worst, Pray for the best.”

@mshaikh do you want to live with family or do you want to be on your own for college … take that into factor and also take the fact that what do you want to do with your life into factor

@UTchemE123 I got into chem with a 3.93 and alot of extracurriculars. I think you should be fine!

@UTchemE123 getting into chemistry is very manageable but i wouldn’t count on chemE. I wish I had put an easy second choice…
