Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

To anyone still waiting on Moody, that could be a good thing. A couple of days ago I got rejected from Moody under a Journalism major. To be honest, I’m just relieved the wait is over. Now I can start making other plans.

To those waiting on moody, I know they admit 200 internal transfers a year. That might be the hold up, but I am not sure how on that. I got in as an internal transfer for journalism after being in the school of undergraduate studies for year. If anyone has questions let me know!

Hi guys
Need some advice. I have been accepted to the civil engineering program at both UT and A&M. Can’t decide what to do. I am interested water resources within a civil program and I can’t decide which school would be better.
Any help greatly appreciated.
P.S.- Congrats to all admitted today!

@secondtime1 two great schools, just comes down to preference. Personally, I’d prefer UT because of what Austin has to offer.

Thanks, I’m just not sure If one has better water/environmental classes for civils or not.

Does anyone know if internal transfers get a 2nd choice major as well? As in if I apply for transfer for RTF can I choose something else in Moody if they don’t have space/my stats suck too much?

@summeroo For internal transfer it is not one single application like external. You can apply to as many school within UT as you want. Your application(s) is submitted individually to the school or major.

I try to do internal transfer for RTF but failed (low GPA 3.4). Moody has a mandatory information session for internal transfer, after that is an online application for you to fill out in which you pick your major (RTF, PR, Journalism…). I don’t remember if they let you choose a second choice (as I only interested in RTF).

My second option beside RTF was Economics, which is under College of Liberal Arts. Unlike Moody, COLA doesn’t have an online application. For Economics, I also have to attend an info session but there is no application process, they takes everybody.

Other non-competitive majors also have very easy admission. I heard that the Mathematics department doesn’t even have an info session. You can just walk into their office and tell them to put you in.

@secondtime1 I’d go with UT because college station isn’t all that exciting.

Hey guys. My friend is applying to transfer into Geosciences. His transcript hasn’t even been processed yet! He said he called in but they told him they’re really busy and it’s probably just waiting to be processed. He sent it weeks ago. Does anyone else have this problem?? I’m getting worried for him. I told him to call in again.

@MathMeany Congrats. Another person accepted is another great piece of news!

Congrats @mathmeany! When was the last time you checked? Always curious to know if decisions sometimes go out at night.

@Kattrain Yeah same here except I asked about a week ago. Since there’s a lot of people they’re still processing stuff. More than likely there are still a few more people that need answers. My transcript made it in but the request for a transcript is still there on my status.

Thanks! @aksamq8 I checked at 11 AM, nothing. Checked again at 2 PM, it was there.

Has anyone heard back from College of Education yet? My transcript has been in for almost a month and I had a 3.81 GPA. Beginning to get nervous

Me too!! COE is my first choice…still in review

I got accepted into UT but not in my first or second major. My first was computer engineer and second computer science. They put me in liberal arts but I’m not interested in this major at all. What should I do? If I go back to ACC and apply next year do I have a better chance? My GPA was 3.7 and I had more than 30 credits

@pinkboo what was your second choice?

Do any of you know if a student can take some of the 24 credits required for internal transfer during the summer? I was planning to attend UT part-time first semester because as an international student I can’t apply for loans and will be paying tuition out of pocket.

“24 credits in residency”? Like there’s no way we could internally transfer into our intended major after one semester at UT? I’ll be entering my second year of college with 76 hours of transferrable credit. (15 from high school, 31 from my freshman year)
