We didn’t get an email until today. My son got in.

No from PAP, but BTP is a yes and her first choice. Also got a yes from BAA and still waiting on one more. Ugh, this is so random!

My son had a wonderful time at BTP last summer. It is a really great program. He bonded with a lot of the teachers that moved to PAP, so he chose them. But BTP is a first class group! And we went to the show at the end. Really good! Congrats!

Anyone else doing TPAP?

One of my students was accepted - super excited!! It was definitely very competitive!

@paradisemt-would your d recommend boco mt summer program for a my d who is trying for training as a triple threat. She is strongest in singing. She attends a performing arts high school; so she also acts and dances. Dance is just not her strongest asset. She applied to MPulse for the summer, but you cannot put all your eggs in one basket. She is a current junior and wants a very strong summer program.

^^^^^ BOCO’s program is run by Michelle Chase and she is one of the best in the business. Her dance portion auditions every year are raved about by the kids. If anyone can bring the best out of your daughter’s dancing it’s Michelle. The problem you face is that you need a dance audition to enter into her MT program. You should contact her asap to see how and if you can still get in. Good Luck

My D actually worked with a dance coach to come up with a one minute jazz combination for the BTP audition so she has the dance audition needed for BoCo. The deadline has not passed, so she just has to request a teacher recommendation. When we went to visit BoCo, we sat in on one of Michelle’s classes and thought very highly of her. I was just not sure if the summer program would be the best fit for a rising senior looking to audition for MT in the fall. This summer’s training will be crucial to her auditions.

I think most will tell you that dancing is the second most important aspect of musical theater. Professional auditions for MT are usually for either singers who can dance or dancers or can sing. You mentioned your D strength is singing. If she ups her dance to a strength her chances of getting into many MT programs would increase dramatically.
BOCO is well known for producing triple threats and their dance program has a lot to do with that.

I personally don’t see how you can go wrong with any on the well known or well respected summer programs. But summer programs have been discussed here over and over and the bottom line has more to do with talent then experience or training. My personal advice would be to don’t over think this too much. What is crucial is that your daughter shows her talent. Gold is gold. It still worth the same amount if it is polished or not.

Thank you so much for your insight. It is always so helpful to hear things from people that have been through the process already.

My daughter got accepted and is enrolled in TPAP. She’s very excited

Congratulations!! What year is she? We have not made the deposit yet.

She’s actually a freshman - sort of. Started out at one college in vocal performance and it was not a good fit. She has auditioned at more schools for next fall and waiting to hear…
She took this semester off and is working/auditioning

I’ve also been accepted to TPAP (boy, high school junior) the audition itself was a great learning experience. I can’t wait to see what I have to look forward to at the actual camp.

Congratulations IsaacMT! I’m hoping one of you kids start a FB page so you can get to know each other before you get there!

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted to Mpulse today! We now have a difficult few days to decide between TPAP and Mpulse! A lucky problem to have- but difficult. I will post as soon as the decision is made!

People have started hearing from MPulse? I thought notifications didn’t go out until the end of the month!
