Well… my son just declined TPAP. Good luck wait listers! First Mpulse, now TPAP… I’m shaking my head- REALLY HARD! (but in a supportive way)

What’s he going to do this summer then?

Hey Fourkidsmom! I’ve been thinking about you! He is staying home. He wants to get a part time job, maybe do local youth theatre, go to the beach- be a kid. I get it. It’s been a busy year. I think a weight is off his shoulders. Of course, we parents feel like it is a missed opportunity.

Is anyone waiting to hear from Baldwin-Wallace about their musical theatre Overtures program this summer?

I just found out I got accepted to UArts MT summer program! So excited! Anyone else going?

Yesterday there was another thread here discussing summer programs. Where did it go?

Would add Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy, which is based on some pretty nice college campuses around the country and stems from Middlebury College’s Language Schools.

They also have a day program for students in the northeast:

I just heard that ArtsBridge still has a few spaces left for this summer. My daughter did this program last year and absolutely loved it. Really helps with college auditions, plus you have the opportunity to get to know/ work with faculty from several of the best MTprograms. The kids get lots of feedback - VERY useful to have before enterIng those daunting college sadiotynf

Wow, that last word is my iPod’s version of “AUDITIONS” - lol sorry:)

Got D’s stuff all uploaded late last night. Auditioning for several summer programs this year - she is a current Junior.

There is cool free program in Hoboken, NJ right outside of NYC where they do a pretty professional production using high school and college students, directed by Broadway performers. This year is Legally Blonde. Perfect if you live in that area. Auditions are February 16 through 18. Hoboken Children’s Theater. My daughter did Les Miz with them last year and it changed her life!

Anyone have an idea about how difficult it is to get in to some of the various audition programs? We’re looking at OCU, Perry Mansfield, Interlochen, etc., but don’t know how to tell what’s going to be a reach, or a fit, or a bit safer. D is interested in MT, and is currently a sophomore.

My D is a sophomore - applied for MPulse MT and OKC MT programs this summer. Just got the acceptance from OKC, she’s so excited. Anyone else hear anything yet??

Cool! Congrats to her. Which session is she attending, or is it the full five weeks?

MPulse notifications not supposed to go out until after March 1 - and the other programs we applied to haven’t even hit their deadlines yet (although we’re done with applications!)

She applied for the 3 week program. She is hoping to do a few other things too - including some dance intensives.

Has anyone heard back from Mpulse yet??

FYI. my son applied to Mpulse his soph year (not accepted) and junior year (accepted) and both times the decision came AFTER the date they stated you would find out. “No” decision came by mail. “Yes” decision came by email. It seems they are so busy with college decisions that they run late with Mpluse. Very nice if you call them and ask when you will find out.

Thank you theatremomma!!

This weeks Backstage has their top five pre-college summer programs and top five college student summer programs. Just FYI.
