Summer Reading!!

hey guys… just curious…these are my summer reading books:

A Clockwork Orange
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time
Angela’s Ashes
The Forger

i have to choose 2, if anyone has read any of these i would love to hear your opinions…

btw…which books do u guys have to read this summer?

For AP World History (im only in 10th so not that much reading) i have:
Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World
Siddhartha

i also have an optional book called The Silk Journey of Xuanzang(or somthing to that effect).

I have heard Clockwork Orange is a must read. Everyone that ive talked to has said it is an outstanding book.

yeah, i heard its really weird though

A Clockwork Orange was a very interesting read. I haven’t heard of the other three, although I do remember Angela’s Ashes was made into a movie a few years back.

I have to read
Black Ice
One Hundred Years of Solitude
Bonjour Tristesse (for French in French)
and another… off of a list.

Clockwork Orange is a wonderful book, it’s a great read.

I just ordered a couple classics I’ve been wanting to read:
Catch-22, and
Portrait of the Artist, as a Young Man

I’ve started Catch-22, and holy ****, it rocks. Everybody needs to read it.

yeah i heard catch-22 is really good also

i have to read (for Ap English):
Native Son …really good so far
A Boy’s life
To Kill A mocking bird

I love A curious incident of a dog

Ooo. Swordmaiden, Siddhartha is a really good book. Its kind of weird, but really short. It made me think a lot.

Angela’s Ashes is very good.
I don’t have to read anything but I have to start my extended essay (4000 words of IB joy!).
I am definetly excited for the new Harry Potter though haha. I still love them… july 16!!!

My two are:
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

I would definitely read Curious Incident, I’ve read like 10 pages and its very unique and interesting.

BTW, Catch-22 is a great book. Native Son starts out really good, but then it starts sucking and never comes out of it.

Here’s my summer reading. ><;;;

English

 1. Night
 2. Lost in Translation
 3. In The Lake of The Woods

So far it seems my favorite ook to read is In The Lake of The Woods

AP US History

 1. Battle Cry for Freedom

This book is insane! It has very small prints! >< Close to 800 pages :O!! I don’t know how I’m going to finish it reading this book over the summer. x] Guess I’ll just have to skip couple pages of it. :] Is anyone going to read this book as an AP US history class? ha ha ha we’ll suffer together! xD

props to those who are reading Cien Anos de Soledad por el autor Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It’s awesome. Also, props to the guy reading Siddhartha- another awesome book.

For me:
Phantom of the Opera
Lord Jim and finally…
Multivariable Calculus (not a bad story actually. lol)

sneakie, i feel SO bad for you!!! battle cry freedom is the size on an encyclopedia! ahhh
