Summer TV

I don’t usually have the attention span for TV or movies- and since cable has commercials - I can’t remember the last time I turned it on-
However- I have been watching shows for free online and pay per episode through itunes & have come across a show that struck me as intriguing.

It’s a period piece, based in 1976 Chicago. ( when I was 17). The clothes and music are on target & while I can’t attest to the accuracy of suburban wife swapping, the episode where a housewife was told by her husband not to go to a fundraising party to support the legal costs of a porn star, but went anyway- was very well written. ( although the subplot of a teen dating her teacher- eeww- the one of her brother befriending a neglected girl next door is much better)

[‘Swingtown’ recap: EW.com](<a href=“http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20210543,00.html]'Swingtown”>http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20210543,00.html)
and this is on regular tv?

What else should I be watching?

New episodes of “The Closer” starring Kyra Segewick and “Saving Grace” starring Holly Hunter have just started 2 weeks ago. Both on TNT.

Holly Hunter was a fellow student at Carnegie Mellon with me and in the same dorm. She looks pretty much the same as back then. Of course, I do too.

Saving Grace is another one I have been watching- I have always liked Holly Hunter-but I wish her character was a little more introspective- she would be easier to like.

Since it is such a testosterone based show-inc Grace’s character- I wonder if they eventually will give Capt. Perry more to do to balance it out?

I also am halfway through Burn Notice ( I fell asleep) which Ibdb describes as a comedy/drama/thriller.
but it was 1:00 am
