My son also waitlisted to SOM- admitted to Ross Business school at U. Of Michigan, business school at Northeastern with scholarship, Wisconsin business school, etc. ![]()
Uuugghh - sorry to hear - but it sounds like he has great options! Did he apply to Buffalo/Albany/Stony Brook also?
I heard that Bing in general got 53,000 applications for 3,000 spots overall. I am not sure how many get into business, engineering etc. Would be interesting to know.
He was accepted at UB with a nice scholarship. Didnāt apply to Albany or Stony Brook. Itās crazy, and to me very surprising, how competitive Binghamton has become. Congrats to all who were accepted!
Wow - he has some really impressive choices! Congrats ![]()
This could be a case of yield protection. He is clearly a very competitive applicant and Bing might have felt your son was likely to be accepted to higher ranked undergrad business programs.
SOM is quite competitive, so Iām guessing Bing wants to admit students they think are likely to attend.
Son is waitlisted. Congrats and good luck everyone!
Accepted. Spring 25
He just declined. Not interested in starting in the Spring.
Accepted to begin as a transfer student for 2025?
Bing Harper, Son offered Spring admit, waitlisted for Fallā¦.
Offered placement at Northeastern, but weād be paying full price, 350k over four years. Bing is definitely most bang for in state buck.
We have qualified friends who are still awaiting Bingās decision. Good luck to all
DS just saw an email awarding 12k merit scholarship over 4 years, so 3k per year. We were very surprised. He was admitted a long time ago - in November - to Harpur. Weād done our research and felt that in-state applicants were rarely offered merit. And, he was disappointingly NOT admitted to Scholars, though he was to FRI. And, heād already committed last week. Pretty exciting.
Congrats on the merit money and the FRI invite. You can see my comments above about my daughterās view on FRI vs. scholars.
My kid was accepted for spring which is not uncommon. I know someone that was in the same situation last year and the school called in mid-april and moved them up to regular fall admission.
If someone on here gets that call Iād appreciate it you could let us know.
I am curious if anyone is planning on doing the fall semester abroad for Spring admits?
We are thinking about the semester abroad program. Heading to acceptance day this Sunday to hear more about the options available.
We are pretty seriously considering it as well. I am curious to know if the Binghamton students are placed together in classes and housing.
We were surprised as well. DS was admitted to Watson for CS in November and then we heard nothing until about a month ago he received a Scholars invite and then last week an In State Merit award of $5k/year (20K total). We were told by everyone including Binghamton that there is rarely in state awards so we were not expecting anything.
Accepted as a guaranteed transfer for the fall of 2025. Is this good?
I have only heard of Spring start with Bing so far, but a full year later transfer. But I do know that Stony Brook did this to someone I know and it was they could start in two years as a transfer if they did local CC first and maintained a certain GPA. Did they give you a partner / local college to attend for the first year and has to hit a certain GPA for transfer? Thanks for sharing.
My daughter still on waitlist for nursing. I donāt think it is happening and had to commit elsewhere.
Can go anywhere for the yearā2.8 GPA requirement for the year.
And could be anywhere for the year
