Super Bowl Thread

As a Kansas City Chiefs fan, I care more about the athletes' personal character than about some silly game. Feel free to chat about it though

/pretentiousness

I'd like the Giants to win because as a Mainer, I feel the moniker "New England" Patriots is a slap in the face to all of the people oppressed by centuries of Puritan Massachusetts rule. Furthermore, they were so smug last time they played in the Super Bowl (and lost)

How 'bout you guys?

Everyone I know is rooting for giants... I'm leaning more toward the patriots though...

On another note, is the sound not working for anyone else?

spectator sports are epiphenomenal to organized religion in my mind (i learned that word today :D).

Go Giants...but I wish the announcers would quit talking about Pierre-Paul like he's a god.

@enfieldacademy, you didn't know the word "mind" until today?

As for the thread, I really don't care about football. I'm much more partial to soccer. That said, I'm rooting for the Giants only because Tom Brady is sleeping with Giselle B√ľndchen which isn't fair.

Psh, who can watch the Super Bowl when the Puppy Bowl is on <3

Patriots v. Giants games are the most intense things ever, and I dislike both teams

Amazing match for entertainment value alone

Looks like Brady's not getting laid tonight. Very happy me.

Almost as good as Michigan State vs Wisconsin

I envy your certainty

Please let me take solace in this illusion. He's not getting laid. Period.

Not a fan of either team (everyone knows these two teams' fanbases are just Yankee and Red Sox fans in winter attire, Gross!) but I must say I dislike the Giants less, so I was happy with the result.

Audi Vampires and Clint Eastwood/Chrysler at halftime were my favorite commercials. And, my god, what a bizarre halftime show...Cee Lo Green in those silvery ministers robes? Wha-?

Also, Wiskie-MSU games were meaningless up until the past few years in which the home team has always won. Sparty comes to Madison this fall, and I suspect I will be involved in the revelry one way or another...

Ceelo Green should always wear crazy outfits

I was really referring to this season's games. They were pretty much as good as football gets.

As a Jets fan I was rooting for meteors to come out of the sky and fall in Indi. Since that didn't happen, I was rooting against the Pats (I won't say for the Giants). I did win $5 in a bet though...

^^Oh yea, I agree. I'm still a little sour about them dashing our NC hopes though.

Commercials for this SB weren't as good as last year's but there were still some entertaining ones. Did you guys see that Skyrim correctly predicted the game's outcome? No? Oh, I guess that's too nerdy for even this forum...

The commercials sucked. The Bridgestone football one was pretty good though.

Everyone said the MnM one was good. I thought it was dumb as hell. I liked Audi Vampires and dog race one, I guess.
