I?ve applied to (and hopefully will be accepted to) an international high school. I?m a junior right now, but the school offers an IB program and requires a two-year commitment. I would have to ?repeat? my junior year (even though I would be taking different classes) and that would make me a super senior my last year (many kids at this school do it apparently). I have excellent grades and ACTs and such and the experience overseas would be great, but how would admissions officers look at having a 13th year? Would it come back to haunt me when trying to apply to a more competitive college?

I don’t think so because this is a special program. I know of someone who did a “13th” year at a well known school for the preforming arts and he was accepted easily into another well known undergraduate theater program after he completed that 13th year.

So , I think your question should be “is the program well regarded?”
