I looked. It was beautiful. But it did not look different than any other full moon. Maybe a bit brighter. But maybe that was just in my head because I expected it to be different?
My H took a picture of it at dusk rising in the sky - he happened to be near water. It looks like the sun rising.
A month ago, H, D1, D2 and I arrived at our hotel at the Grand Canyon just in time to ask, “Where’s the best place to go watch the sunset?” The staff told us, and we were there to see a beautiful sunset; we stayed a bit longer to watch the colors change across the canyon and thought about leaving, then all of a sudden, I looked past my daughter’s shoulder (she was taking photographs) and saw the full moon rising over the east rim of the Grand Canyon. There were just a couple of really small wisps of clouds to provide an textural effect, but it rose over those clouds quickly. It was so big as it rose just over the horizon and everyone’s cameras were clicking away like there’d never be another moon rise. But it was spectacular, and I can’t imagine every seeing any moon rise as beautiful as that one. So while I’d like to get excited about this one, it will never meet the beauty of that one. I actually got a great picture of D1 and D2’s silhouettes as they sat near the rim next to each other watching the moon rise; you can’t really see them, other than their silhouettes, but it’s one of my favorite pictures I have of them now.

We looked a bit ago. Beautiful.
The moon is interesting here now. There is an orangish/reddish glow around the moon and many clouds. The moonrise was cool because the moon looked quite large, but there wasn’t much contrast as the sky was still light.
it was huge and extremely bright. We live on a lake and the glow off the water was amazing!

Very bright! Too bright for a good picture but I did go out and take a shot of my shadow from the moonlight.
I was expecting it to be much larger and a different color. It was pretty, just looked brighter.
Look at it around 5:00. Still very bright and beautiful!
We were driving to a country destination for dinner last night and as we rounded a bend in the road - there it was! Absolutely gorgeous. Still there this morning - watching over my running group. Makes it worth the early morning rising.
At a friend’s suggestion I took out the binoculars. You can see some very cool details that way.
