Sweetpie ... Honey ... Dear ...

Do you ever feel a bit odd when a teacher refers to you by “sweetpie” or “honey” or “dear”? Some of my teachers do … and it’s HS for goodness sakes lol.

I usually find it endearing, but I live in the deep south so it’s pretty commonplace.

It’s really creepy when my teacher calls me “sweetcheeks”, especially coming from my 70 year old male health teacher.

I have never heard a teacher use those words. It might be a southern thing I suppose…

Haha. I used to have a teacher in middle school that would literally grab my chin and squeeze my cheeks, shaking my head back in forth. It was really awkward.

there is this 102 year old lunch lady who always says “thank you sweetie” after i purchase my meal

I find it creepy but its like normal so its like idc

I’ld find it endearing, but that’s probably due to my south asian background. it doesn’t seem that strange. although most people would find it weird up here in jersey
